Sony Computer Entertainment has released these two new images of Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, the upcoming PlayStation 3 game, slated for release in Fall 2007.
This is gonna be an easy going fun to play kinda game, i hope=)
It is...very fun.
Nice shots. Finally, the game its getting close and close everyday.
colorful and pretty :) .. GJ insomniac
That screen looks like a Pixar Movie.
I dont think beautiful can describe them. Superb. Cant wait for Future.
This game will definatley increase the interest in purchasing a PS3 to both hardcore and casual gamers. The R&C series has always been a delight to play and offered a unique and humorous story to follow. This game is going to rock, period.
I still chuckle when I think about all the comments that were/are being made about PS3, like "it only has __ memory for textures", "RSX is last-gen", "Cell wasn't designed for games". And to think, the system is barely 8 months old. I can't imagine with PS3 games will look like in just 3 years.
DJ, RSX is based on 7800 and is a less powerful part than R500(read doesnt have unified shader model, hardware tesselator), Cell was supposed to render graphics also, if I remember right 3 Cells were able render superbably. I expect PS4 to forget dedicated graphics altogether.
@below, to say it lacks some helpful features is far from saying its inferior. But if it is true nvidia is working on PS4 already, then this I can expect when PS4 releases, the GPU in it wont be lesser quality than top desktop part in market unlike PS3 which was eclipsed by 8800 when it came out and similar to R500 which was better than then existing desktop parts.
how the PS3's components are supposedly inferior all day long, but it doesn't affect the technological and graphical superiority that we're seeing on the PS3. A lot of people were skeptical when Sony's specs claimed their system was more than twice as powerful as the 360, but amazingly the titles shown at E3 put that skepticism to rest.
I don't think dedicated chips are going to go away. While their tasks are broadening out, they're still best when performing the tasks they were meant for. For example, even though Cell could act as a GPU, it would only be good for vertex and lighting functions (in fact, it's better at those two tasks than any GPU on the market). When it comes down to pixel functions though, GPUs win out. It's the reason nVidia was brought to the table in the first place, and why nVidia has already begun work on their GPU for PS4.
too much technological stuff their for me to even to try to get into...anyways yeah DJ what their going to be doing in 3 years is going to be incredible...btw gave you a bubble.
The first RC launched the ps2, this will do the same for the ps3.
I see a very interesting bundle that I would be very interested i buying IF it ever materialized on store shelves: ps3 80GB, RC.TOD, Resistance, and Moterstorm for 650$(CAN)
I hope a sony guy on the inside(Sony) read some of these comments
DAMN! I cannot wait for this game...ratchet has always been so much fun and this looks gorgeous...this is the best looking PS3 game in my mind, and my personal number 1
I just bought the older games for dirt cheap after reading the reviews, seems like a lot of fun.
