Gamespot: This stunning Wild West epic raises the bar for open world action games, and stakes its claim as one of the most engaging games this year.
Very nice score :D
High scores...just like GTA4. Wonder what this means :D
Just got the game today and from what I've played it's definitely a 9.4+ Yes, it's very similar to GTA IV, but at the same time it's so different. If you're on the fence about it try renting it and the chances are you'll probably end up buying it. It's one of those games that are truly worth your hard earned money.
If u say its good, ill consider it, but ill definetly wait till E3 to see where my next 60 bucks is going towards.
Single player is amazing! Wish the free roam would of been better than GTA IV (minigames, interactive npcs (shops)). Sadly....none of those were added in.
I don't care what anybody says, this is easily one of the nicest looking games on any console. Especially considering its scale and dimensions.
That's true. It is a gorgeous game.
GTA IV got good reviews but is by far the worst game I own.
Another great score. RDR is kicking ass.
Hurry up GameFly! Shipped Monday!
Mine too... I'm hoping it'll be here tomorrow. I have Alan Wake coming with it too but I can't decide which to play first.
Sub HD linear POS Alan wake or an epic open world rockstar game? is it really such a hard choice?
Lovin' this game so much!
R* is the king of open world games, and this is my favorite one yet.
9.5 i have to wait to get this, money is rare for me these days.
Boring game.. Too much like GTA4.. If your on the fence and didnt like GTA4 Do not buy this game.. I bought it 5 hours ago and am already ready to trade it in
sorry to hear that. i found it completely different then you did. i know im enjoying it! and love every min of it!
@LevDog you finished trolling?
GTA IV was a good game, it just wasn't what the review scores said but, anyway Red Dead is by far one of the best games this year!! I'm going to have to disagree with LevDog on this. There is so much to do it crazy!!(hunting, stranger missions, bounty hunter missions, etc.)
haha u guys realize this game probably will have a boring multiplayer but a amazing singleplayer so im probably only gonna rent this one! I think games that cost 60 bucks should have great replay value and i dont see the multiplayer on this game being fun.
My thoughts exactly.
isn't just the multiplayer experience. The main storyline in single player alone is 20+ hours. The side quests can easily add another 10+ hours. Then, there is just the random stuff to do. They aren't side quests. They are things that somewhat level up your character...like hunting, treasure hunting, herb finding, etc. I spent over 3 hours tonight on the game, and only really did 2 missions. The rest was just exploring the land...which is pretty vast...and full of random encounters that you can choose your level of involvement. You can live out the life of an outlaw...or a lawman...or remain chaotically neutral (my favorite). I happen to really like open-world games, so I might be a tad biased toward RDR. The setting might not be for everyone (the wild west and all). But, IMO, this is probably the best $60 I have spent in a while.
and this comes from someone who is hardcore I like Multiplayers like, Killzone, COD4, Resistance, SOCOM, UNCHARTED 2, MAG, Team fortres 2. etc. and i enjoy The multiplayer on this game is somethign new fress and very fun to play.
Now that even Gamespot has confirmed this to be the likely GOTY, I'm going out to get the 360 version!
This game is AWESOME
Whaaaaaaaaaaat? They used the 360 version for this review? Big shocker there. -_-
I'm playing the 360 version and it is AWESOME! Hands down one of the best games I have played in a long time.
So is there any big names (voice actors) in the game? I'm pretty positive James Garner is in there and the main character sounds like Josh Brolin I imagine Kris Kristofferson is in there too
I had a look at the voice cast the other day, expected to see some well known actors but I didn't recognise any names.
Looking good so far, since there is no cell phone in the game so i assume no contacts will call u for a ride out to town and disturb the flow of game. How about riding under the influence part? Cops chase and stealing horses missions? I'm still skeptical till i can read reviews by real gamers as i know R* has deep pockets.
And I have not seen them say any real bad thing about it like all these other Sony-haters are. Neither has IGN. Something is very strange here. @ harrykid - No the version reviewed by Gamepsot here is the PS3 version, check it yourself.
Sandbox and shooter games have become guaranteed to get good scores!
