Examiner | Opposum Power: A Rocket Knight Review

Ex: As marsupials go, opossums haven't had nearly the same level of video game exposure as, say, bandicoots. But the Sega Genesis circa 1993 certainly had two possum-powered games worthy of mention. Awesome Possum...Kicks Dr. Machino's Butt brought a Sonic aesthetic and an environmentally friendly message to 16-bit gamers.

Konami's Rocket Knight Adventures, also released in 1993, was a side-scrolling platformer designed by Nobuya Nakazato of Contra fame. Now, the rocket-powered possum has been given the current generation update courtesy of Climax Studios but is remaining faithful to Konami's 2D legacy. We'll call it a 2.5D platform revival.
