Falling awkwardly between the revamped adventures of the previous generation and an open world made possible by the new, it embraced neither and failed to capture the imagination as the Sands Of Time trilogy had. These three games knew from the outset what their intent was: to provide an intense platforming experience that blistered with pace, direction and enjoyment. Even the much-scorned Warrior Within had moments of excellence, in particular the Dahaka sections, and the series has lived long in the memory, even with the crushing test that The Two Thrones decided to throw your way at its conclusion".
