Eurogamer Review: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

If you make a mistake, rewind and try again. That's been the implicit motto of the Prince of Persia series since 2003, but now it seems that life is imitating art as the ambivalently received 2008 reboot is unceremoniously ignored in favour of this "interquel", squeezed in between The Sands of Time and its angsty 2004 follow-up, Warrior Within, in the official canon.

oh look another low score from eurogamer.shocking.

Gun_Senshi2654d ago

I was expecting them to give it 5 or 4 lol

DelbertGrady2654d ago

It looks very generic and bland though. I get a 'been there done that' feeling from watching gameplay vids of it.

Yeah, I'm a huge PoP fan but I'd honestly just rather replay the old trilogy instead of this or that cel shaded one.

tapaz2654d ago

agreed. the platforming looks nice but the combat and enemy AI are just meh.. no blood and the bodies disappear the moment they hit the ground

the whole point of this game was to creat a been there, done that, feeling. The first level alone states that pretty clearly. If you where a fan of the sands of time series and thought that the last Prrince of Persia game was to different, this game is for you. If not, well, it aint.

Don't know how I should take this, Eurogamer is always giving out low scores(well not always but). I'm still on edge with this title. Still hoping it's good.

Montrealien2654d ago

if you are hoping it is good, well, I will tell you right now, this game is good.

This game looks like the older Sands of Time/ Warrior Within type. I loved those games, and with this one looking very similar I may like it.
It will be one of those games that I will wait for a price drop or buy second hand as I am getting RDR and Alpha Protocol first. Those seem better games for me.

This is clearly an hommage to the sands of times series, and if you where looking for more of that, you will not be dissapointed.
