I'll take it if it's worth it.

I love that PSN service was free! That's was one of my biggest +'s. I like that it will still be free, however, I hope they still remember us non payers and don't take away services from us :(

DJexs2955d ago

They already said everything psn has now is going to be free. All the essential features will be free. Things like cross game chat and all that kind of stuff will be free. They will not cripple psn service what so ever. Premium is for stuff like cloud storage, demos, free minis/classics every month.

Same here I plan on subscribing.

That information was reported to be fake months ago, Sony still hasn't officially announced any details about the premium service. So don't get your hopes up.

Didn't they do something like this just recently? I don't think this would apply to older systems. Just don't get your hopes up on this one it will come with some prerequisites.

Oner2954d ago (Edited 2954d ago )

@ dinorawrr ~ That information was NOT proven to be fake. Where ever you got YOUR information is absolutely wrong. I received that EXACT survey and filled it out promptly. It was exactly as described ~ a survey asking what people would be interested in IF a subscription service was offered.

It was definitely real as it came from Sony themselves and is the DIRECT reason we are actually talking about a pay for subscription service all together right now. If this is what is offered, I would pay for it day one no questions asked. Especially for Cloud storage for Games & Game Saves plus Full Title Trial for 1 Hour. But would suggest/hope that cross game chat be a universal FREE service incorporated into the current PSN so as to not limit others experience.

Nick2120042955d ago

I personally feel as long as they do not take away features from the free service and just add it to the paid service, no one should complain. I am willing to spend the money for a better quality service. You can't get everything for free.

kaveti66162955d ago

Another thing I worry about is whether or not Sony will add features to the version of PSN we have now. Are they just going to leave it as is and only update and repair the premium PSN?

It's not that the PSN I have now isn't great, but I always appreciate more improvements.

U don't deserve only one bubble. Bubbles up. It seems people don't like hearing the truth on this site.

I definitely want it provided there are enough incentives to upgrade.

PSN lacks a lot of polish that XBL has. Sony doesn't advertise on it and PSN doesn't have the media-connected features of XBL. MS works with a lot of partners to provide content that makes XBL feel more "connected" to the world of gaming. It's what Premium would aim to provide-- a grounds for Sony to advertise and provide better features-- things like video stores for Canada, demos for all games, etc. The best part is that online stays free so there's no push to upgrade, so people who don't care for the bells and whistles that don't impact games don't need to upgrade.

If Sony can put in what the guys at PSBlogShare are asking for while managing to give a bit of a facelift for the UI, in-game XMB, with added features to make the experience smoother and more media-friendly I could see myself upgrading. Truthfully, I only pay for XBL because I want to play online. Everything else is unimportant to me. That's the problem Sony faces: They need to offer major incentives: XBL gamers are forced to Go Gold just to play online. XBL really doesn't have much incentive otherwise to upgrade. Since Sony is keeping their online free for everybody then they lost their most major incentive. I trust they will have some big features, which is why I am extremely excited for PSN Premium.

Godmars2902955d ago

And still PSN gets discounted for being a developing service who's basic features are free, versus XBL which is basically as MS wanted it after its first introduction on Xbox1.

PSN is still open for growth. Can and likely will have something to offer on both a free and paid basis. XBL isn't. If it does change, if Gold becomes free, its going to be because MS planning failed and they're going to have to make up for the mistake of taking advantage of their customers. Something I doubt will work.

Nick2120042955d ago

Is there a reason you would not want a premium PSN service?! It's not like they would force it upon you and as long as they keep online gaming free what is there to complain about? Plus, do the math. Let's say its $50 a year, that's only $4.16 a month. Just eat at home rather than getting a Big Mac once every month.

UNCyrus2955d ago

you talking about the article, or the service? because those are two completely different things! XD

LordMarius2955d ago

I personally dont want it as of now.......maybe BECAUSE I DONT KNOW WHATS TO BE INCLUDED.

Ask me after E3

¿You didn't see the list of services? The official list from Sony from 2009.
