Kung-Fu LIVE coming to PSN; become the hero of the game with the PS Eye

From PS3 Attitude: How would you like to star in your very own video game? Later this year, you’ll be able to thanks to Virtual Air Guitar Company and their upcoming PSN title, Kung-Fu LIVE.

By way of the PlayStation Eye, the game will capture every move you make and transfer it to the character on screen. Not only that, but the character on screen will be you! You’re the hero of this live action kung-fu game. Think of the old Mortal Kombat games’ graphics combined with action and adventure and you have Kung-Fu LIVE.

"With the Move controller nowhere in sight, it sounds like this is a title that would appear with Microsoft’s Natal. It just goes to show you how powerful the PlayStation Eye currently is. It’s a shame that developers haven’t used it to its full potential yet."

Looks interesting.

Wait.....shouldn`t this say Xbox360?

LOL.

darthv722714d ago

i really like the dsi freebie photo dojo and this looks to be a console version. Same idea of putting yourself in the game. Could be both fun and funny depending on the situation.

Chubear2714d ago

The PS2 had games just like this one too. Natal is a scam intended for the general public that know no better.

ChozenWoan2714d ago (Edited 2714d ago )

guess the PSEye does do what the Eyetoy did... only better.

Edit:
I remember this game being shown around GDC2010 and it was showing that this game was possible on both the PS3 and 360, so why is it now a PS3 exclusive... hmmmm. Guess MS can't buy all of the mocap tech on the market.

Can't wait to see how Sony incorporates this tech into other PSMove games.

edgeofblade2714d ago

To be fair, this is not 3D mocap... but it certainly looks fun.

...But no, this is completely different from Natal, and any hairbrain should understand that.

ChozenWoan2714d ago (Edited 2714d ago )

but with this tech and the PSMove it can fully be just that.

The point I was making was that Natal claimed that placing the player into the game was not possible on any other system. Yet here it is on the PS3 before we have yet to see it done on Natal... other than the faked marketing vid.

vhero2714d ago

Just shows the PSEye can also do what the NATAL can basically do already though.. Looking at how successful that was I can't see how successful NATAL is gonna be I remember watching eye of judgement and being amazed I even bought it on launch but it was a huge disappointment.

edgeofblade2714d ago

First... Eye of Judgment is a sound, well designed game, but I had to play the non-camera version on PSP before I understood that. The camera ruined it for me, originally. Try the demo and see if it doesn't change your mind.

Second, this is not a 3D camera. BUT it's impressive how fluidly it seems to work. This would work on Natal easily and you could use an 3D model instead of an image of yourself.

The Natal detractors keep ragging on it, but they don't know how it works. It's not just a simple camera.

webeblazing2714d ago

everybody keep bring up the 3d cam and it switches with 3d model etc. etc. but nobody has seen this im hoping it still do this but who know im not jumping to conclusions especially since all the thing the shown been done long ago

Joni-Ice2714d ago

Need to see more game play.

dc12714d ago (Edited 2714d ago )

See the other N4G post : http://n4g.com/news/524838/...

Joni-Ice2714d ago

WOW...The game looks fun and interesting.

dc12714d ago (Edited 2714d ago )

True... it does look wild. Just trying to figure out how to pull off the fireball. To you're earlier point, need more game play. In the words of Ryu ......hadouken!!!

Allowen2714d ago

Whaaaat ?!

I thought that only Natal could have such games !

KKKKKKkkkk

IdleLeeSiuLung2714d ago (Edited 2714d ago )

No, if the game only requires 2D:

"However, this doesn't negate the fact that I'm staring at the TV and punching and kicking the air. Because of the 2D orientation of the game, you'll be facing forward, but moving side to side, which is simply not as intuitive as facing the screen and moving in the same direction."

ALFAxD_CENTAURO2714d ago (Edited 2714d ago )

It's obviously some developers will decide to make some games for PS Eye, with Full Body recognition, Face/Voice Recognition to play without controllers etc in a Blu ray disc.

Kung-Fu LIVE is just a step for a PSN Game, besides Eyepet for retail disc and other games.

Jack Klugman2714d ago

wow that looks uber lame.. reminds me of those kinetic failures Sony tried to do back in the day.. Is that Michael Flately from Lord of the Dance?

HighDefinition2714d ago (Edited 2714d ago )

Seriously, you gotta let me know the name of the next account you start.

Godmars2902714d ago

Just as its proof that Eyetoy was doing things Natal promises to do before Natal even existed.

webeblazing2714d ago

jack is right they did this on ps2 b4 its good they show this to shut some of the no believers but who actaully care maybe if it was on the 360 the fanbois would care and we know the ps fanbois care to rub it and some people faces. o well different strokes for different folks i know if i wasnt buying these on ps2 mostly im not gonna buy them now.
