Speaking about the New York setting in Crysis 2, Crytek has revealed why it's symbolically important and why "nobody cared about the island" in the first game.
Hehe... Random island is hard to care for.
Quite right. I'm just worried about how it's going to impact the freedom you had in Crysis. It was far from open world, but... I think it's going to be more difficult with a real city.
that don't deceive your original crowd crytek !! anyway I'm ok with a city setup, that oculd be really fun if done well
I agree with Djorgo, but still, I can't imagine myself caring for New York, London should've been the place!
Since the Jungle looked like shit on consoles; worse rendering distances i've seen. http://www.youtube.com/watc... I guess a more city based setup would allow them to shrink the scope and make it possible for consoles. Consoles have always done this to games that come from PC's; When haven't they? <512MB Ram you'd be kidding yourself to see the PC version of crysis run and look decently on a console. Which is why they made a completely new engine/game to give them. Not much looks better than a Topical Jungle; thats why they keep the same setting to display their graphical powerhouse in the best possible way; intill now..
I prefer an urban setting over a jungle one any time.
come on, walking on the beach at sunset looking for kiwis and killing NK, man that was cool :D
Yeah, I'm actually going to miss the island setting. And as someone above said, I hope the city doesn't mean less freedom.
