Revisiting Old Games: A Suggestion

Tym Kaywork from Platform Nation brings us his opinion on revisiting old games: "I don’t think I am alone when I say I have a ton of games in my library that are half-played. I had every intention of beating the game when I started, but something else came up; work, a child, another personal game, a review game, nose-hair trimming day.. whatever. The point is, I know I want to come back to that game, I just don’t have a lot of time." - from the article.

I hope I can find the time to finish all the games I've started and haven't finished.

Oh, quite a few old games but its my own fault. I buy too many games and have too many means of playing games, but I generally complete a lot of retail ones I buy.

i do this with a lot of sport games...when i buy nba 2k or mlb the show...id rather not buy the next years iteration when most of the time there arent many significant improvements...so it takes some time to get used to the controls and mechanics of each game

There's an abundance of excellent games out there I finally started Mirror's Edge lol. My advice is to take it one game at a time.

I love mirrors edge. completely slept on gem that recently cleared one million units and has a confirmed sequel. its a great game, fresh fun, innovative, clearing new ground and deserving of breakout success. Of course experimental titles run the risk of being commercially swamped by franchise names. But alas, 25 million will buy "Just another FPS"

Thats a good tip. Just hunker down and finish these games one by one. But now I have another problem. WHICH ONE TO FINISH FIRST!?!?!?!

Kassanova072655d ago

That's based on your preference. Personally I look at the release window and plan accordingly lol. I favor story driven games.

snakebite362655d ago

I wish I could do that, but I'm too worried that if I don't get a game right away it might jump up in price for a long time (Valkyria Chronicles).

And here I was thinking I was alone in this. Right now I am Playing FFXIII, Assassins Creed, Dead Space, Half Life 2, and Far Cary 2. Honestly though I feel like selling Far Cry 2. Its too much of a chore. They really needed more bus stops in that game to make travel quicker.
