Assassin's Creed was just awesome to look at.

Fallout 3 was ugly and desolate but that's what made it great.

Take Just Cause 2 view over any of these anyday

Just Cause 2 is good (water looks amazing), but not as good as Assassins Creed. Uncharted 2 had some good views also.

Christopher2773d ago

Just Cause 2 has size, but detail-wise it lacks compared to others.

Oblivion. That was like, the gold standard.

The views in that game are spectacular and all the more so because they are all places you can physically get to. Not just painted on scenery. Take your pick of vantage points. It's amazing from every angle.

Ass Creed 2 was so memorable near the end i was basically mind f*cked. "2012 WTF?!" then i went to sleep confused.

UC2 at the top of the hotel level.

Wallonsi2773d ago

That was very beautiful indeed. I must have just turned the camera round and round there lol.

UC1 at the top of the waterfall above the nazi submarine. That was the first time I was truely amazed and blown away by the graphics this gen.

karlowma2773d ago

Playing Uncharted for the first time right now, and yeah, I spent a good 5 mins running around that area checking out the scenery.

jalen2472771d ago

I was truly amazed by the graphics in that scene. That scene grapics is better than 97% of games on the market

Lou-Cipher2773d ago

That one really sticks in my mind as well.

Another one that really impressed me recently was the Kasumi DLC on Mass Effect 2. There was an impressive view when standing on the balcony of the penthouse overlooking a Futuristic City.

Oblivion;

when the game started off in the dungeons below and after about 20 you finally got saw that little bit of light at the end of the tunnel... walk towards it... loading screen....

BAM !!! OMG... Is this for real ? Trees, grass, mountains as far as the eye can see. turn around and there is this castle... that was epic !!

GTA, during the evenings as the sun sets out on one of the beaches. One area I think a lot of people overlooked was how good the lighting was and also the water effects. the way you could see everything reflect of the water and the motion of the waves.

AC I was very impressed visually, but AC, while it was the better game by far, visually it seem to lack just that little extra bit.

Just Cause... fly up hi and Jump, nuff said !

Also Mass Effect; some of the planets had wonderful vistas.

How about Dante's Inferno? the entrance to The City of Dis. That view blew my mind :D
