IGN: Medal of Honor Impressions

IGN writes: "Setting a game in the theatre of modern war may not be particularly novel anymore, but for EA's long-running Medal of Honor franchise it's a first. Since the glory days of the original and Allied Assault the franchise has branched out from consoles to PCs to handheld systems. As with any brand, excessive iteration leads to exhaustion . Eventually the quality suffers, consumers lose interest, and the name is quietly packed up and sealed away in the vast halls of retired intellectual properties. So will EA Los Angeles and DICE's new game, the subtitle-less Medal of Honor, be able to re-energize the franchise? From what we've seen so far, it certainly looks to be a wild ride".

hope this game does well, but nothing in that preview got me excited. sounded just like a preview for CoD, or any other military FPS.

New Medal of Honor >>>> CoD

I with you wollie. It sound like it could be COD: EA. I know they sell well, but I'm tired of Modern Warfare FPS. They've already overstayed their welcome within one console generation. Keep COD, Battlefield, and MoH no more.

I'm so sick of games like this! Modern military shooters.. MW1+2 is enough American Patriotic war-romanticizing for one generation of gaming! Oh! And MW is THE best selling games ever or something similar? Of course it is..

Well, it would be an oxymoron to call it anything else. Americans are always the ones who stand up to terror while all others cower and apologize for their culture. Can't wait until Obama is out of office in 2012 so we can get back to being a strong nation and not the wussies that Obama would have the rest of the world believe we are.

Wow... Unnecessary, off-topic and particularly offensive.

EA is just trying to capitalize on the CoD Fad. This game's got generic CoD wannabe written all over it, nothing about that is a good thing.

DecoyOctopus2720d ago (Edited 2720d ago )

from the articles and trailers it sounds like this game is trying to do what COD didn't do like have a good story and authenticity with real human soldiers instead of super human soldiers... this sound better than COD in everyway already and not generic at all and remember MOH did WW2 before COD did so this is justified!

MW2 is finished long time ago. MoH will compete against BFBC2.

Syronicus2720d ago

Yeah, that would explain why the over priced map pack for MW2 broke all the records and sold more DLC than any other game before it... Yup, MW2 is truly dead.

electricshadow2720d ago

I'll keep this game on my radar. It looks interesting. Haven't played a good MoH game since Frontline.
