Its somewhat of a bold statement, in that, millions of people are having fun with the FPSs that are already on the market. But I'm sure to get my kicks from this game.

ABizzel12808d ago

I don't thin it's a bold statement, I think it's true. People enjoy playing games like Modern Warfare, Killzone, and Halo more so because of the challenge. Those are not fun games, the only shooter that's really meant to be a fun game is Left 4 Dead so I get exactly what Cliff is saying. Everything nowadays is 100% serious all the time. Smaller developers would succeed if they made games that are fun instead of using all their efforts trying to build huge franchises to compete with established franchises.

Hmmm...thats something to think about...

"puts fun back in?" Uhh... WTF? I AM having the best time I've ever had with FPS gaming between BFBC2, MAG, and MW2... BFBC2 in particular. Just because a game doesn't have a retarded kick melee mechanic and stupidly over the top scenario/bosses doesn't mean it aint fun. fun is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm also stoked for Crysis 2, a new Killzone, MOH, Ghost Recon, and might also check out Halo: Reach (not a huge fan of Halo actually),

So, I've actually got a lot on my plate right now, Cliff. Check back in when you're significantly less than a year out with the product and you got more than cornball generalizations and hyperbole, ya glorified PR mouthpiece.

You should at least watch the trailer. Besides, he isn't the one whose developing. Also, "fun" might not have been the best word to use to describe what he means. After watching the trailer, fun looked to be more indicative of how ridiculous (in a good way) and over the top the action can get. That is also what Abizzel1 is talking about: that too many games are aiming for the serious, uber-real mindset. Instead, they should embrace wacky, but believable ideas to push their products (akin to Borderlands).

any one jumps the gun and starts saying that he is wrong becasue KZ2,MW2,BFBC, are fun, just think about what he actually means first.

The best way to explain it is to compare GTA 4 to Saints Row 2 - they are both fun but one does fun in an over the top way.

i don't know what he's talking about

?? good video game = fun

and what? KZ2 and BF:BC2 aren't fun games? guys are so stiff you can't even enjoy a decent videogame

MerkinMax2808d ago

But Fun is not a word to describe that game.

PotNoodle2808d ago

Enjoying a game = having fun with a game.

Pretty sure you can call any game you want 'fun', killzone 2 included.

MerkinMax2808d ago (Edited 2808d ago )

My vocabulary to describe Killzone 2: Beautiful, gritty, intense, competitive, awesome, and enjoyable. It's a great game game but to me there are better words than "fun" to describe it. It is fun, but fun is not what that game emphasizes.

BubbleSystemSuck2808d ago (Edited 2808d ago )

This game looks really fun...

Gears of Wars in 1st Person on Steorids, in a rainbow.

Megaton2808d ago

Whether it ends up being good or not, that's a stupid statement. Typical of Douche Huge, or whatever he's calling himself these days.

Letros2808d ago

Looks like an old-school PC shooter, no surprise coming from the Painkiller Devs, they are a lot of fun, but don't take them too serious, much like Serious Sam HD!
