SG Preview – Split/Second:Velocity Multiplayer

"All of the multiplayer modes pit 8 racers against one another. Two of the game modes – Race and Elimination – do pretty much what they say on the tin. However, to stand a fighting chance of finishing a race placed anything other than abject last, you have to fight dirty. At key points around the track, you are positively encouraged to throw the proverbial cat amongst the pigeons by triggering ‘power plays’ – generally, triggering one of these results in part of the scenery exploding in a particularly spectacular fashion, bringing debris, buildings and even flaming jumbo jets down on your unsuspecting rivals. If all of that isn’t enough to keep you from dozing off at the wheel, then the power plays that change the layout of the track should stave off any spells of nitrous-powered narcolepsy.
