The information of LittleBigPLanet 2 from the last GameInformer
Just imagining the possibilities, puts a big smile on my face! 2.5D Platforming/RPGS (Odin Sphere, Muramasa) with co-op to boot, here we come! I hope someone really creative out there would do a Symphony of the Night LBP version. WOW! the things that the LBP community could do with this game, would be pure awesome. ME WANT GAME NOW!!! :D
:O Is this fake or real? I mean, doesn't even sound as a game.. But sounds crazy!?
...3 years in a row.
As the count I happily volunteer to count the new levels upon publication Ah ah ah
Gotta love the Count..
"As examples, the game 100% encourages the player to create game types and wants you to make a shooter, a racer, puzzle games, Space Invaders clones, even RPGs"
I wasn't much of a fan of the first LBP.. and I wasn't expecting much when I went to read this... But now this has jumped near the top of my most-anticipated games. Can't ****ing WAIT to see some previews.
Yeah I know! There are so many additions to the level of customization and user created content in this sequel that it is so overwhelming its kinda ridiculous! Media Molecule is on fire!
holly $heit this soo much has been added this is trully a seqeul my god i cant wait devolpers take note this is how you do a seqeul
The fact that there will be cutscenes now means that there might actually be better story elements. More gadgets are plus with a grappling gun to boot! Import ur own sounds and voices!!! RPGs/ rts/ fighting games! Love it!!! Day one! Modnation also = Day 1!!!!!!
I have spoken with gevurah22 about this (the guy that got a job at Mm because of his creation skills). He confirmed it :D
...and I took would like the game now, the only thing is do I get rid of one and transition to 2...
Wow this has got to be fake. http://www.1up.com/do/newsS... "Media Molecule has no plans for a sequel to Little Big Planet, and even thinks that such a move would contradict their goal for the game. In an interview with Critical Gamer, level designer Danny Leaver said the company would "never want to do that. That'd be the most counterproductive thing you could do I think." Producer Martin Lynagh added, "I think what you've seen so far from Little Big Planet, that's the way it's going to continue."
Dont think they should make a second one.. It just seem like a game that needs no sequel just add-ons. but new refreshing ideas is always nice.... Who knows!?
If you look at the features list, it looks like they were developing a completely different game within the lines of "play/create/share", it's not even "just" a platformer anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if MM decided that this will be LBP2 just few months ago... Actually, it's probably Sony's idea, advertising a sequel is easier than advertising a new IP, especially if the original has many GotY awards.
Sony and its studios have a history of simply saying something doesn't exist and the announcing it a few weeks later, so I don't see what your problem is... PS: That list looks insane, can't wait to get my hands on it, and some of the user levels that will come from it!
Sounds like a freaking dream! This is custom content on a whole new level. I flipped when I read you can make your own health bar for a fighting game! But what the hell, the source is too untrustworthy :( If this is remotely true I am sealing LBP2 as GOTY 2011 alongside TLG. @Blaze That was in 2009 though and before Sony branded Media Molecule as part of the First Gen family! Lots has changed. Sony is magic for developers, they inject cash into devs and let them have the creative freedom of a painter.
Not sure if the features list is true but LBP 2 I Think is true, here is another more reliable source. http://www.gamespot.com/ps3...
good to see you back here i was missing your lame comments if you can read and i have the idea that you can its says gameinformer info so this is no rumor this is confirmd with a REAL intervieuw with MM so i have the idea this is real ask your self this does a well respected mag have the balls to post soo much lies
Little Big Planet is an amazing game, and I'm excited about a sequel! Let's see more amazing level editing tools like the paintinater and water. Can't wait for this!
This is the single greatest thing I have ever read. Sony is going to destroy the competition at E3 with this alone.
well my bad. sheesh. just sounded like they were determined on not making a sequel. As @Alpha-Male22 pointed out, I guess cash changed that decision.
This Amazing "New Genre" is Here to Stay LBP2 will be Huge, Hope Everyone Support it ans Enjoy it as Much as I will...
Dream Games!!! Dream Games!!! If they use the easiness of creating ModNation Racers this will be a blast! Just the level creation part will be the game play itself then add the ability to play on them online with new friends will last for years upon years and the best thing about it is ...its freaking FREE! SACKBOTS! SACKBOTS for FTW! LOLZ! That's Sackboys + Xbots= Sackbots Finally peace and harmony between PS3 & Xbox360 in the galaxy? Now that is what I call "Console Power!" Do not under estimate the Power of PlayStation. Oh man brings back many memories of 1994. Now we will have a decent "RPG Maker" since the PS One.
- All DLC from LBP1 transfers over to LBP2. Including downloaded content packs, costumes, etc. thats what i wanted =D
Only thing I can say is - OMG OMG OMG.. just give me the game now..
Everything I read is a welcome addition, I loved the first one and this one seems to eb better in every way.
The first game thing many of you PlayStationers will adamantly make is ...tadah! Final Fantasy VII! Good Luck! As for moi I will pay homage to Streets of Rage 2 by Yuzo Koshiro.
This makes me want to buy a PS3 even more... I really need to start mowing some lawns or something.
The dlc transferring over is awesome.
sounds pretty cool :D
That is a pretty impressive list of improvements worthy of calling it a sequel.
Hell yeah, going from a level editor to create platform games to a platform to create games period, I can't wait at all
Is this real? I have serious doubts
this is a copy/paste from my previous comment: I have spoken with gevurah22 about this (the guy that got a job at Mm because of his creation skills). He confirmed it :D
Sound's fake until i here it from the horses mouth(Sony).
This is from a devs mouth taken from a GI interview... How much more confirmation do you need?
From the horses mouth(Sony) until then it's a rumor to good to be true sounds awesome though i'll wait for E3 before i get excited.
You will just have to wait for the scans.
Its all over the web, even neogaf. Get excited.
Media Molecule are owned by Sony... this is from Sony's mouth.
YAY! ...wait i'll laugh anyway...
Now this is a sequel Game of the Forever!!1 Seriously, this will win GOTY
If it has all the improvements it says I don't see how it can't win GOTY Unless something Mind-blowing is shown at E3
If someone makes a game that can cure cancer and AIDS while ending world hunger and war, LBP2 will have serious competition for GOTY. But it'll still win.
haha...no...just no =P too funny then again, i wouldn't go as so far as to call what we know of LBP2 as GoTY yet, lets wait a little, although i don't doubt its chances... think of GOWIII, HR, ME2, RDR and other forthcoming games. still...REACH? L-M-A-O
Are you really laughing so much about that? If so, I suggest you get out more. I reckon RDR for GOTY, although Reach could well be multiplayer GOTY. With regards to LBP2, this feature list looks incredible, I just hope the vast number of new features doesn't result in the quality of the package as a whole decreasing.
X ziyad X, You can practically make all those games in LBP 2. Now obviously it's 2.5D, but you get my point, don't you? LBP 2 is more revolutionary than any of those games. It's definitely at least a contender for GOTY, if it comes out this year.
I just told my little girl that this was about to revealed and she went nuts. Me and her have put a lot of time into LBP. We plan on doing the same on the next thank you MM!
And she said (very cool like) "Yup, I'm buying that." LOL, she's only 3 years old!
Can't wait to see some gameplay :)
E3 just got a lot harder to wait for.
"He had tons and tons of wires and switches in the background working to make that happen. Media Molecule didn’t want players to have to take up all that space just to make that happen. So in LBP2 you can create microchips that handle all of that logic stuff. Additionally you can use the microchips to program enemies and such as well. You can control their properties, weak points, animations, whatever. They can all also be condensed onto a microchip." The creations in lbp2 are going to be on a different level than lbp. That and the ability to string levels together and make sackbots we'll see games rather than just levels.
Programing for programing games to create games in Games!!!!! thats ridiculous.. This is some insane stuff for this game.. i guess this just beat TLG for Goty 2011... My word.
But for 2010!! The article confirms a 2010 release not 2011.
The Hell I went through making bi-pedal robots that would walk across the whole game one time, then fall in two steps the next time. My lab was full of all kinds of crap that failed 50% of the time, but worked like a dream the other 50% of the time. I created all kinds of weapons and even broke apart other peoples creations to make my own. I would drop heavy stones on the locked creations to detach what I wanted from what I didn't! The randomness of this game was amazing! I would test something 50 times and it would work 49 and really mash up the level 1 time.
It sounds like the skipped LBP 2 and went directly to LBP 3. How on earth did they come so far in under 2 years.
people made lbp 2 with 1mln of levels
from gevurah22 (see upper comments from me to see who he is): LBP2 is essentially what LBP was meant to be originally. Like I said earlier, Mm knows what they need to do and this proves it. It's also not alienating LBP1ers because it still retains the core gameplay. It's the creation aspect that has exploded like crazy.
But I thought originally LBP was a simple platformer designed for the PSP/PSN, with the creation aspect being a small after thought. Until Sony saw it and was like, dayumm
Nope, 100% wrong. The original concept was a "myspace" for games, where player could share with each other, nothing to do with PSN or PSP.
“A Media Molecule developer has created a fully-functioning Command & Conquer Clone”. OMFG sounds awesome.
Ahhhh! So that's why Sony were smart enough to buy them up.
"There is a new gadget (like the MGS paintball gun). It is a big-ass grappling hook." Well said. xDDDDDDDDDDD I can't even express how excited I am for LBP 2.......Omg................Jus t............Omg.~!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!111111
If this is real, then I say AWEESSooome. List is spectacular =D
HOLY CRAP, it looks like you can turn it into a fighting game as well!!! The biggest megaton from this is that its coming this year!!!!
Can't wait for E3! A lot of good games coming down the pipes. I'm going to assume that there is some sort of PS Move support. I had some fun with the first one this one should be interesting too. I will hope for some new IP titles to come out as well.
That list is too good to be true.
If this is true, I will be buying this day 1!
LittlebigPlanet is probably the only current gen game I'd give 10/10 (Fallout 3 comes close but loses a point due to bugs). If everything in this article is true I think we're gonna need a new rating system.
