CVG: Cliff Bleszinski responds to 'lower framerate' report.
gears franchise.. why don't they aim at the best possible game they can make.. It's like they're repeating what halo 3 did.. They make slight improvements and since it's a well selling franchise they don't care about the player.. just about how much money they can make with the least effort.
Wearnt halo 3 made for the original xbox though? and some how ended up on 360?
got enough money to make another more powerful xbox 360 why the f**k they don't do it....they should just put bluray in it....
You have to keep in mind that if you target anything above 30fps then you'll have to sacrifice performance in other aspects of the game. It's not their laziness or the lack of interest in improving the franchise, it's a compromise they have to make when you work with consoles. PCs it's a different issue, but every console has a limited set of hardware, and these devs learn to make the best of it. Most games this gen run at 30fps, and look amazing AND play amazing. Gears 1 and 2 are a testament to that. And there are more games I can point out but they aren't really relevant to this article.
Since when was the lowest acceptable frame rate the 'target'?
Well 30fps is gonna make a lot of difference when it comes down to graphics. Take a look at Killzone 2 and GOW3 which both run at 30fps i must piont out GOW3 does at times drop to 20fps at times. and the reason why they chose to make there game run 30fps and not 60fps was because they wanted to make the best looking graphical game. Now if they chose 60fps no way killzone 2 and GOW3 would have looked impressive.
WOW such low standards, 30 FPS what a joke. These clowns are such Under achievers it isn't even funny. Next Gen my tilda key. 30 fps yeh at sub 720p resolution, how lame. 3rd game on the console, Epic should have figured how to get 30 FPS locked and at 720p resolution or higher by now or just admit the Hardware is crap. 1920 x 1080 at 60 FPS is next gen or this gen if you got a PC. They should make a PC version so we can see Epic's talent without barriers.
