IGN: I was in the audience when Apple CEO Steve Jobs strode across the stage and introduced the world to the iPad. Everybody in attendance already knew to expect a tablet. Rumors agitated for months without enough of a push back to refute the existence of the device that would soon be named the iPad – a name I still think is inexplicably bad.
And it's not because of some silly tampon joke. I just think the name iPad doesn't evoke fun. When you create a luxury device – and that's what the iPad is right now – you really shouldn't give it a name that sounds like something you work on.
