Haipa Sonikku from GOS Writes: In the 2nd quarter of 2006, June 1, 2006 to be exact, famed developer and head of Sonic Team, Yuji Naka, left Sega Corporation internally to form his own development studio, Prope (English translation for the Latin word meaning “near”) Entertainment with only a few members of his team coming along for the ride. The company start up fund was 10% from Sega and the clause of this is that Sega has right of first refusal on any game that Prope Entertainment develops. The option afterward is that the IP (intellectual property) basically becomes a free agent.
