Bungie community director Brian Jarrard has revealed that the new IP currently in development for Activision, has been in the works since 2007.
That's a long time, and they're saying they're only in pre-production now, so I'm hoping they offer something brilliant here!
That's understandable since 2007 is when Bungie and Microsoft split.
It was kinda obvious this new IP wasn't only just thought of. Games also takes years to make these days. At least great ones do. Take too long though and you can ruin it..
Bungie is definitely going to try and top Halo.....I'm rooting for them.
Uncharted 2 was made in 18 months.
Can't wait to see the new IP
@Gamehead that's true, but the engine was already built. I'm sure Bungie had to build a new multiplat engine. Just a thought.
That's a fairly long time.
Yeah, but that probably involves all the pre-production and everything too. It may have been started in 2007, but they probably didn't start writing code for it until 2009.
That's true. They will probably ramp up development once Reach is done.
Probably just a few guys bouncing ideas around since 2007
Sounds like it may be coming soon then.
Looking forward to see what it is, Bungie keeps pumping out a new game every year. Pretty speedy considering how well they polish their games. Meanwhile, also looking forward to what 343 will do with Halo.
cant wait to see what they have. and its in pre production stage? damn
i heard they aren't showing the game at e3 so im assuming microsoft wont let them show it till they have reach out the way.
where did you hear that?
Impressive that they managed to keep it under wraps all this time, I mean holy hell..
