BlazBlue Characters Were Developed In 3D

Arc System Works Europe development director Tomo Ohno has revealed to IncGamers that 2D fighter BlazBlue's characters were originally developed and animated in 3D.

That's a bit strange. I suppose the quality of movement is better in 3d and translated to 2d makes a much better model?
