Stig Asmussen reveals alternate God of War 3 endings [Spoilers]

GamePro writes: With the forgone conclusion to one of gaming's largest and most popular stories, God of War 3 entered the marketplace with tremendous expectations. As the director of what could be considered the most important PlayStation 3 game ever, Stig Asmussen has been the man with the sword at Sony Santa Monica.

With two established directors having helmed the series before him, he's been able to learn from Kratos' previous fathers while adding an authorial tone all his own. Stig discusses the two journeys that concluded with God of War 3; both Kratos' and his own. WARNING: If you haven't completed God of War 3 yet, the following story includes spoilers.

I really like David ending. I want Kratos to beat the hell out of Thor.

no man cory had the best idea kratos becoming death was a great one.
also lol if that made the game then in dantes inferno dante kills death hey the circle goes around lol only if it were true

I dont see Kratos having much motivation for killing off the Norse, or becoming death. Im interested in seeing what brings Kratos back out to fight again after his revenge has been completed.

To answer your question..

SPOILERS>>>

Athena gathers the remaining gods on Olympus and tries to get Pandora's powers back from Kratos...

ABizzel12786d ago

Jaffe and I pretty much had the same idea of how it should end, except I though Kratos death should have been the start of the Roman Empire.

JoySticksFTW2786d ago

I seriously want to see some Norse Gods action

lociefer2786d ago

well, i think stig had the best ending in mind, its kinda conclusive and it shows some other side of kratos as well

silvacrest2786d ago

stig did do the best ending

if they want kratos dead then its plausible, if they want him alive for another adventure or to even use jaffe's idea then thats also plausible

basically, whatever happens next is wide open and pretty much anything that happens next wont seem unrealistic

personally i want Norse mythology next, whether kratos can make it in there, im not sure but it would be great if he did somehow

HolyOrangeCows2785d ago

It felt like they were trying too hard to make a conclusive ending, they decided last minute to give it a theme (TEH HOPEZORZ WAZ IN U TEH WHOL TIME!), and chickened out of killing off Kratos in favor of giving the game a chance to have another installment.

One of the things I didn't like about God of War 3 is how it doesn't tie into actual history or the present day. One of the best parts of God of War 2 is the game's explanation of how the Colossus of Rhodes was destroyed.

I was hoping it would end and you could at least say, "hey, this could have been what happened". Because that's the core of mythology. There's stories that explain things the people didn't understand.

While it is awesome that Kratos brought chaos to the world, I just think I would have preferred it to have some continuity with history.

Up until the very end, I was hoping they would find some way to do this. When Kratos died and "hope" was released, I half expected the world to return to the way it was.

Am I alone in this?

Kratos in Norse mythology? Hmmmm... sounds interesting.

Ven10002786d ago

and IMO they can still do it.

NateNater2786d ago

I think they should do it. Norse mythology can be just as deep as Greek mythology in some parts. Instead of Spartans it would be about Vikings. Sounds pretty cool if you ask me.

NateNater2786d ago (Edited 2786d ago )

Kratos on 360 confirmed!

JK :-P

Edit: Seriously I'm just kidding. But this is the open zone after all...so let all logic fly out the window and disagree away!

NateNater2786d ago

No. You lose bubbles from people pressing that red divide sign button (aka the negative feedback button) right next to all your bubbles. I don't think disagrees really mean much except for the fact that people disagree with you.

Decent interview, my favourite part, which was also highlighted by the site isnt about the endings;

"If I were to bring Kratos back, I know exactly how I would want to do it. But I can't tell you. I know exactly how I would do it, and it's not anything you'd expect, guaranteed. "

I imagine we could swap that "if" for "when". Hopefully anyway.

silvacrest2786d ago

for me, this is practically confirmation, with a series as popular and profitable as GoW, no way sony leaves the series or kratos

i dont wanna bring M$ into this but they knew there was still money to be made after halo 3, i doubt sony isn't thinking this to
