3D Dot Game Heroes is one of those titles that shows extraordinarily well. If you give me five minutes to show you the game, I bet I could get you to take out your wallet and walk away with a copy. That's not a knock against it, mind you. I'm just pointing out that the tricks and gimmicks of the game are made clear to the player in the first few minutes of gameplay. As the hours go by, though, the shine begins to dull somewhat. The game remains fun throughout its play time, but it doesn't quite have the stuff to become the classic it appears to be in its opening moments.
