IGN: Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake Review

Greg Miller: "Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake multiplayer is fun at times, but the fact that it wasn't designed with the PSP in mind shines though and hurts the experience. SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 lets me talk to my teammates, Resistance: Retribution lets me make friends and play with them, and both of those games offer quality single-player campaigns that are fun to play through when the Internet isn't an option.

That isn't the case with Fat Princess.

Sure, if you can get a roomful of ad-hoc friends together or the online community booms with players who know what they're doing, Fat Princess is a blast, but more often than not, it left me wanting."

The story is too old to be commented.

Only 8 player multiplayer? Surely they could have done better than that, a few PSP games do 16 player multiplayer with some even doing 32 IIRC.

You dont want more players than that or it would be havoc and not alot of fun. This game is great the way it is and deserves far more than a 6.8, i dont know what these guys are smokin.

...of IGN PSP reviews. They always compare them to their big brother counterparts and mark them down for not playing the same. Another prime example of this is Super Stardust Portable which in my opinion is pure 9/10 portable arcade gaming.

fistful of cake is a direct port of the ps3 game

i think the comparisons are justified.

Hey man... you're entitled to your opinion but I don't think they changed their tune at all. Greg seems just as bombastic a supporter of the playstation brand. Ryan being such a japanophile plays FFXIII on ps3.... they switched things up with like Ryan doing some 3 red lights stuff but I don't think they as a collective group are particularly for or against any particular platform. Greg talks about how he and Ryan are the only ones in the office that play psp.
