Too many cheaters in D2, even with the current patch. I'm sick of broken gear sets and game exploits; let them pay for what they have done.

I can't wait for D3 to come out!

There were too many cheaters in D2 back when I quit in 2001. Great game, but plagued to the brim with cheaters.

Hopefully this will serve as a moderate warning around the time of D3.

Mods are third party programs. Did they get banned because of that, too?

Mods are additional files etc. but not actual applications.

What is the point of banning D2 players?
Seriously, why even bother?
logichurtsfanboys  +   1995d ago
Maybe they figure that once D3 is out, the cheaters and what not will migrate to it? So they're just being preemptive?
cupogoodness  +   1995d ago
yeah and believe it or not people still play D2 so while I'm sure a chunk of that 320,000 has probably moved on from the game, you still have to think a large number of current players were affected.

banning players from diablo 2? the OOOOOOOOOOOLD diablo 2? lol blizzard waste your time in something productive.

Dunno if they are still banning for maphack, that's how they got me years ago.
The only hacks I felt were ban-worthy were any that gave you an unfair advantage in duels and duping methods. Everything else, who cares?

not only maphack
they would ban hammer you for bot running as well...i used to use bots to run pindleskin and andarial on that game made mad money selling gear and sojs on ebay back then before they patched those out
