E3: Xbox Live hits 7 million users

Membership of Microsoft's Xbox Live service has grown to over seven million users, the company has revealed.

And Microsoft now intends to ramp up the number of users with the hope of attracting 10 million punters by this time next year.

"Last year we said Xbox Live would grow to six million members. I'm happy to announce we've eclipsed the seven million mark," said Jeff Bell, on stage at the company's pre-E3 conference at the Santa Monica High School.

that I am most impressed with on 360 it has to be XBOX live. It really has made a next gen jump from the original XBOX. And with 7 million users online now I guess it is heading in the right direction.

It really has increased the options available to gamers. With so many demos available to preview games and all the new HD movies coming out. Microsoft is bringing home E3 to gamers also through XBOX live. It really is starting to take off in a big way.

The online gaming, the friends list, etc... It makes a great overall "experience" they talked about when the 360 was first coming out. One really sweet thing is I can stream my Sirius satellite radio via the internet while playing on-line (Gears still doesn't miss a beat). gCM
