Sega has revealed that Virtua Fighter 5 is finally due to be released on the Xbox 360 within a few months, and it comes complete with Live multiplayer and a collection of extras over the PlayStation 3 version.
This game did get moe dev time....which makes a unfair comparrsion...but peole like to do that..oblivion does look better n the ps3 because of dev time
Dude Stop it
If all the SONY bragging is to be believed regarding the SHEER POWER of the PS3, it wouldn't matter how much time the XBox360 devs had with the console, it shouldn't be able to look nearly as good as the PS3 version.... unless......
THE PS3 ISN'T AS POWERFUL AS SONY SAYS IT IS!
I'll care while I am playing this online!
didnt pick this game up for the PS3, TEKKEN 5 going online and TEKKEN 6 on its way no need to bother with this one.
All that will do is make Developers see games always do better on the 360. You'll see more PS3 games going to the 360.
Is that what you really want?
just a few months ago, VF5 was the "king of all fighting games" but now that we have this news, it should immediately be ignored and wait for tekken 6?
nice nice I didn't like the controls on the ps3 version maybe it will fit better for the 360 pad, atleast for my taste. Tekken is really what I want though.
Not only did the PS3 lose this as an exclusive, the 360 version is gonna be better.
did you write the title of this "article" too?
Those two words are the deciding factor.
Since all my friends *including me* aint pros at VF5...
It will be funny when we play online as noobs. LOL.
I can't wait to play this onLive.
PS3 owners, please don't hate the game or substitute it with tekken.
Don't taint a good fighting game just because it will now feature online on the 360.
WOW! How can this be? What happened to all the extra space blu-ray offers developers and the super power of the cell?.... mmm... weird... so it seems as game are not developed only based on hardware specs... Many sony fanboys believed that every game on the PS3 was going to be bigger and better on the PS3 just because blu-ray offers developers more room. But... what have we have here? Developers are developing games as always without taking under consideration how much room a disk has. Sony fanboys taught that just because a blu-ray disk can have 100GB developers will make games 100GB.... sad... look at what's happened.. developers are making games as they used to.
Obviously games are not being affected by the DVD9 room.. developers obviously don't mind making a game in multiple disks(blue dragon)... or on DVD9(this game) and on top of that with better features thanks to XBox live and the fact that they had more time to work on.
And don't even go there... this game was made first for the PS3.. and is being ported to the xbox 360... the difference is.. it will be better on the xbox 360... unlike every game ported to the PS3.
Development tools people.. that's what matters... not what sony led you to believe... that the cell was so powerful that can program games on its own... and that blu-ray was so spacious that every game would be 50GB.... haha.
I completely agree.
Less than a year out of the gate a 25gb game is releasing next month. Lair, perhaps you've heard of it. Expect more like it.
While true...Sega has never been a big 25gb CD filling dev company. I can see Epic and Konami and Square doing it later, but Sega's software doesn't have much of a wow factor that needs that much memory. They could add every character from all the past Virtua Fighters and put it on the disk, but then it wouldn't be Virtua Fighter 4...
Just because Blu-Ray holds more info dosen't mean automatically Devs are gonna write bigger games.
Writing Bigger games costs Devs more money which they are not willing/or are less willing to do on a smaller install base.
Why is that so hard for some people to see?
Even if they do make it how long will it take to be released?
I don't know about you guys but I bought my 360 to play games (a bunch of different games) right now not whenever Devs get around to releasing them. I don't want to use my system as a DVD playing while waiting for games to come out, I have a DVD player for that job.
The MGS4 info has been around since November 2004 (look it up if you don't believe me) and the game still isn't out.
In the time being I have played a ton of games on my 360 and have a ton of great ones still coming in the next year.
And guys I'm not trying to be mean or even get into those silly flame wars, I'm just talking the truth.
Great POST BLADESTAR very well said and full of HARD FACTS. SONY should have made a GAME CONSOLE 1st I think also only having 256MB compaired to 360's 512MB makes a diffrence also and SONYFAN BOYS have SONY to thank for no online play to rush it into market because of lack of games.
Both Tekken and VF are w/e.
Soul Calibur and Street Fighter/KoF/CapcomVsSNK rules all.
SF & KOF owns....
But to say soul caliber is good?... only the one in dreamcast
Still VF5 is fun because you can button mash and play really technical
SC is waaay better than Tekken or VF. SC is technical while remaining fast paced, Tekken and VF are too slow.
first attack always wins.
C'mon... all serious fighters will never take sould cailber seriously.
Except the first one on dreamcast
Tekken is slow? what fighting game have you been playing? At least you can run in Tekken...on SC and VF5 you have to tap your way everywhere. I think you can run in SC too, but they do that heroic running crap in some kind of pose
i must say im buying this.. good to have the option to play online
Of course it will have online so it is the one to get. i had it on the PS3 and played it to death and traded it in for The Darkness. It got old because I had no online. 360 owners you have the best fighter coming soon.
Should have SEGA delayed original PS3 version until now to enable online on obht versions? Who knows?
Sony really screwed me.
I bought their system and nothing has changed and now a price drop?
I SHOULD HAVE WAITED.
STUPID SONY. AND NOW THIS???
to be honest..
As a ps3 owner. I envy you 360!!!
Come to our side child...
We accept that all have made mistakes in the past...
you know Chemical, i never looked at it that way, all early PS3 adaptors are getting screwed for getting it early and paying the bug bucks and still no games except one (R:FOM), and now they go and do a price drop? and if you buy it this month you get 5 free blu-rays??? its a GREAT DEAL if your loking for HD player that as a bonus plays games.....but guys like Chemical get the SHAFT
And your heart will be filled with Joy!!
This game will rock. It'll actually be fun. Not a button-mashfest like craptastic Tekken.
Tekken is like blowing baby vomit/sh1t on your eyes. It hurts.
Maybe thats why JIN likes it so much. He can just put his tard helmet on and mash away while bleeding out of his eyes and listening to Green Day.
i cant hate....i love this game no matter what happens in this so called "console wars"
i for one only own a ps3 and im very happy to see the vitua fighter series go online ( since it was said it couldnt be done) i hope some day the ps3 version gets a update but that could take a while.( 2-6 months)
im not here to say if one is better than the other but the online adds to the replay value and i wish the version im playing had this feature but this is usually the price you pay to be a earlier adopter...oh well, i just hope sega hasnt forgot about me.
a little advice too all
lose the control pad and buy a the 360 VF joystick( coming soon ). many moves are are almost impossible with a controller.
bubble for you!!
And ya did'nt listen. Now that its in Stone all of a sudden Soul Caliber and Tekken is better? LOL! Ya Dudes Suck. Looks like there's life in Fighters again. To all my Xbox Bethren See you online. Especially with Jacky Item list maxed out. Damn Sonee Fanboys we keep telling you that you can still get a Xbox360 and join the Revolution but the longer you fight it the more your gonna get hurt denying it.
Anyways I still have my DOA Fighters Stick that i use for SF and DOA so VF5 will Fit nicely along with it.
@ Kev - 2 Words Big deal You waste a bubble to tell me that?
you should definitely learn to use the spell check button. And of course this game will be better since it releases after the ps3 release.
I have VF5 and it's a great game... but seriously, this is a mistake made by Sega, not Sony; perhaps sour grapes on their part for being dreamcasted out of the market by Sony.
Disagree all you want, the point is, Tekken 5 for PS3 recently was updated to get online play, so Virtua Fighter online should be possible on PS3 too. SEGA should learn something from Namco on that one.
Why do journalists never ask those questions to developers? And why do developers always make up stupid reasons? "We decided which experience would be better for which console", that's complete bull. They should admit "...we don't want to take the extra time to make a worthy port on PS3. It's just too hard, and it takes too much time, and that's more expensive... therefore we didn't want to bother... who cares about making a good product anyway."
I also have a 360, but I refuse to buy it a second time. After all, SEGA always said it was impossible to make VF5 online, even when it was known officially that it would get ported to 360, that's why I didn't wait.
A game thats on PS3 and 360 looks better has more options and online play for the 360 and GUESS what SONYFAN BOYS this one was coded for the PS3 first now what??? were is all that MIGHTY CELL POWER.
It's time to face it Sony boys. There is no secret power to the PS3. The only power it has is giving developers a headache to even run games on the cell bc it is not a practical games processor. Not to mention the graphics card in the 360 is way better.
This will happen time and time again with 360 always getting the better version. You can click disagree all you want. It is only bc you are brainwashed bc the truth is right in fromt of you.
360 = dedicated gaming processor, powerful GPU, good development tools with XNA, and easy game coding with short development cycles so companies spend time making great games and maximize profits.
PS3= good Blu ray player, a processor that is not solely meant for games, and underpowered GPU, increased development time and minimization of profit for developers.
From a business perspective which would you prefer?
Sony feed the PS2 owners all this talk about power power and power not for gaming maybe for movies and what ever but not gaming wake up boys its midnite and its time to turn back into a pumkin.... I LOVE MY 360!!!! Now I'm dizzy Great POST BRO.
oh wait yes it does.
ps3 not as powerful as 360 as a games system.
proven time and time again.
do you see ?
Seeing all the comments by sony fanboys saying how VF isnt that good anyways, don't be surprised to hear comments like "watching blu-ray movies is much better then playing games anyways" or "yeah have fun getting the RoD playing Gaylo 3 while im watching my blu-ray movies". If they don't get the advantage over the xbox, whatever it was wasn't very good or important anyways.
We have Tekken. We have Tekken DR. Thats going to be multiplayer online very soon. Most people prefer Tekken over VF anyways. So, be happy with VF, great job.......NOT.
NoBizLikeSnowiz: Does it look like I listen to Greenday?
"Most people prefer Tekken over VF anyways" see what I mean?
You're one sour little piece of prune aren't you? Must suck paying loads for a console and have zilch to play on it except movies, then just when the games are announced the price tumbles down and you're like WTF? And before you know it, your bluray player will fail on you from playing all that porn and that's when some games finally arrive and you're going to go WTFx3. Even worse those so-called exclusive games for PS3 start appearing on 360 just a few months later as the definitive version and you're really looking for the highest building to jump off from.
I jest. Of course the potential of PS3 will be realized. In about 4 year's time. Buy it then.
SAY IT WITH ME JIN........DE FVCKING FEAT.
Now all PS3 TARDS SAY IT .....HAIL 360
You all have been PWNED.
