I hope it pays off though, I can see myself putting many hours into this game this summer

I've read this several time now. However the game looks badass and if it turns out to be just GTA in the western times then fvck it I can't wait. I need me a good Western.

Can't wait, its one of the rare titles I don't have to think twice about buying day 1.

The latest multi-player vids, showing how you and friends can form your own posse and roam the world, look like a whole new level of gaming fun.

nycredude3170d ago (Edited 3170d ago )

I am also very hyped for the free roam mp with support for Posses with up to 8 members. Me and my Mag clan will have some fun on this! Roaming the plains looking for showdowns!!! See you all online if you are getting the ps3 version.

Edit: Although there might be some truth to his comment, there is already someone in the open zone dissing DVD9 and blaming the problems on it. Why can't we all just be friends and enjoy gaming together!?

bnaked3170d ago

"complete nightmare" because of DVD9? ;-)

Redempteur3170d ago

yeah i'm intrested a little ..if the comments from players are good i'll try it .

it's true that they have to implement a lot of thing right for thsi game to be a success

I have to thank them for sticking to it. I don't prefer open world to linear or vice versa, but since a good open world experience seems to be limited to Assassin's Creed and GTA I'm glad to see something new and interesting in an open world environment.

thedisagreefairy3170d ago

u need to try iinFamous out then. really fun open world game.

This game has gone from just being on the list of another game to get... GOTY Cotendar.

All I would really like to say to rockstar is; The most satisfying victory comes from the hardest fight.

I Thank God there are Dev's like R* still ready to take risks and invest in tech while keeping their creative imagination active..

They could have just Licensed some crappy engine...

They could have just thrown us an FPS, and then throw us... more FPS games, like a lot of other dev's seem to be doing.

We got something different and hopefully something really special.

ViciousBoston3170d ago

The way R* does business is exactly why they belong with Sony. I say this only because eveyrone talks about Sony buying Take2. R* puts in alot of effort in their games. I will be buying this 100%.

Looks fantastic, can't help but love games based in the Wild Wild West.

FragGen3170d ago

+1. The Western genre is severely under served by gaming. I'm psyched to see something of this quality coming out for it.

I played GUN on my old PS2 and that game was brilliant and a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. GUN was kinda of similar to Red Dead, it was kind of open-world with main missions and side activities and the gameplay was explosive, hard action. We definitely need more games of this variety. I'm looking very forward to Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar are once again getting in my good books. I'm about to buy the PS3 versions of Episodes from Liberty City and next month Red Dead, looking good.

What Mr Houser really means.

Having to constantly compromise our vision to fit on the lowest common denominator ie DVD9 has been a bloody nightmare.

BYE3170d ago

Judging by the trailers RDR could be the most impressive game ever made.

Hopefully it pays off and it sells 10 million or more, Rockstar deserves it for realizing a game like this.

Sounds like the train level in Uncharted 2. Once you complete it tho the results pay off.
