Santa Monica, California-based Activision said today that it had shipped eight million units during the first quarter of the 2008 fiscal year, leading the publisher to raise its earnings forecast for the period.
Four million units of Spider-Man 3, the company's best selling title during Q1, were shipped. Two million and approximately one million copies of fellow movie tie-ins Shrek the Third and Transformers: The Game were shipped respectively. One million units of Guitar Hero II were also shipped.
The company now expects that its financial results for Q1 2008, due to be announced in early August, will exceed its previous outlook in which it forecast net revenue of $435 million and earnings per share of 3 cents.
