MS Comments on PS3 Price Drop: "We'll see if it makes a difference."

IGN reports:
"We're not surprised by Sony's reaction to the market," a Microsoft representative told us. "We'll see if it makes a difference. It's interesting to note that they've significantly dropped their price in the first eight months while Xbox 360 has continued to sell well at our launch price for more than a year and a half. We're right where we want to be right now -- it's all about choice and bringing the best games and entertainment to homes around the world."

I think there come the first rumors of a x-box 840 at the e3. Microsoft is not realy build up the hard- or Software, their start a new gen over and over again, just like the PC-Sektor!
(Sorry for my english)

QuackPot3729d ago

That's why the price wasnt dropped. Microsoft didn't even care about future buyers by reducing the price when the Ps3 and Wii were released. They don't give a damn. They just want your money.

Mycococo3729d ago

caugh...microsft...cough... only 1.6 mil sold since the launch of the wii and ps3...caugh...your in no position to cut prices now...caugh...

THERE IS SOMETHING IN MY THROUAT AND IT IS ALL THE BULL SHEEIT MICROSOFT HAS BEEN FEEDING ME!!

a 3 YEAR WARRANTY COUNTS AS A PRICE DROP! (losing 1.15 billion aint easy!)

hahahahaha.lol lol lol lol

typical MS crap.

The only reason for the 3 year (on the red ring only mind you) is pretty much because they had no choice. It was that or full recall, it is clear which one saves MS More money.

Hint for the MS sheep who are blinded (there are lots of good 360 fans as well, this not a hint for you as you understand): it is not the recall.

Can SONY say that Hence the meaning GAME CONSOLE!!!!

power of Green 3729d ago (Edited 3729d ago )

At least MS can say we can drop the price and snub out the PS3 at our will and we have a massive line-up and a top notch online service can Sony say that? >_<.

boi3729d ago (Edited 3729d ago )

well PS3 has a line-up too and it will have a better online component then what it is right now...anyways

the price drop for the PS3 will make a difference but not by much

and MS is doing well i guess with their long list of games+online but its not as good that it will make PS3 tap out lol don't really need the price drop unless they have too

Blackmoses3729d ago

Power of Green...when did you get a job with Microsoft? For that matter when did you even get a job?

Even worse....who hired you?

SONY has a HUGE lineup of games including:
1.)Motorstorm
2.)Resistance: FOM
3.)Ummmmm.....
4.)Crap...
5.)I guess that's it...
6.)The rest of the good games look better on the Xbox360

Does anyone find it strange that THE Ken Kutaragi is actually here on N4g and we only let him have two bubbles?

Seriously, shouldn't someone like that have at least 5?

;)

Lol bubble for you. This flame war could use a little humor.

razer3729d ago (Edited 3729d ago )

It is way overdue, you are going on 2 years now! If you don't you will lose the market share advantage you have right now. They need to just STFU and get their console hardware squared away and bring that price down to the Wii level. This "just where we want to be attitude" is what landed you in last place the previous gen and why products like the Zune and Vista are disappointing (sales wise, tech wise I love Vista).
