Red Orchestra 2 (Heroes of Stalingrad) was presented during GDC 2010 last week. Extreme published a long and interesting preview of the FPS developed by Tripwire Interactive, so here is what you must know about Red Orchestra 2.
Red Orchestra 2 is a realistic shooter: the game "has to be as realistic as real life."
We'll have a "peripheral vision" of the battlefield so we will be able to detect motion outside of the field of vision thanks to subtle indicator when someting approaches. That kind of system avoids the map on the top right of the screen which is everything but realistic.
The maps were scouted by Tripwire's team in Russia where all the details were taken for the most realistic atmosphere.
