Resolution Magazine writes: "It's true that some will find Yakuza 3 too talky, too saccharine, too Japanese. But anyone prepared to embrace another country's culture wholeheartedly, and crack a few skulls in the process, will find a tremendous amount to love here – even with a few bits missing. It's a crime drama with real heart, a refreshing antidote to the relentless murder-fests of its peers, and fully deserving of a Western audience that will likely treat it with a little more respect than its publisher evidently has."
