Debate: Should Xbox 360 be blamed for Final Fantasy XIII shortcomings?

In the end, its not the fault of the Xbox 360 or Microsoft, but that of Square Enix. It was up to the studio to design the game and it could have been implemented in a number of different ways, but hasty last minute decisions did put Square Enix in a tough spot.

says I can blame the 360 and Microsoft.

However, other peoples are free to blame anyone else, including the PS3 and Sony, if it will make them feel better about the inferior 360 version.

A whole lot of other JRPGS on the 360 arent linear.

Proving once again that without Blu-Ray, one must sacrafice quality for non-linearity.

In all seriousness, let's stop the blaming and rejection, and instead, start the acceptance... the acceptance of Blu-Ray.

ToV, LO, Eternal Sonata for isntance may not have the flair and budget that FF13 has but are all quality titles.

Moreover almost all of have what everyone is dissing FF13 for lacking.

King of sandbox games rock* have said sandbox games are nigh impossible to do on multiple discs, and FF is only more open on the 360s last and final disc which does arouse suspicions, but at the end of the day the games out,you know its linear so choice is yours but if anyones to blame I say blame SE not the 360

I think the fact that other epic RPGs on Xbox 360 aren't linear is proof enough that it isn't the Xbox 360s fault completely (if at all).
Perhaps it did have a hand in FFXIII's design choices somehow, we'll never know for sure, but if it did then Square Enix should have found a way to work around it. Other RPG devs have managed to. Instead, Square seemed to go with a "It's too hard, can't be bothered" attitude. :(

not PS3 or 360. Square failed to deliver.
