This is a hugely interesting game, as fascinating as it is frequently frustrating, as engaging as it is eccentric and, for those who are hooked by its quirky charms, it will provide one of the most inspired approaches to the JRPG seen in a decade.
Looks like it could be good. But they didn't go into specifics about the story which is disappointing. At least the game-play sounds solid. I might have to play the demo again, I wasn't very convinced (same thing with Valkyria Chronicles though, the demo did not accurately represent the game).
"At times you'll have no doubts that this is the best JRPG of the generation..." Excellent. I like that the game has a high difficulty and encourages strategy.
I will read it tomorrow. It got an 8 from Eurogamer which is good for them. Nolan North plays one of the main characters as well in his Drake voice. From what I heard the game has a full Japanese VA but only part English VA. The director thought most JRPG fans want the original VA over the English one.
A lot better than I expected.
Nice. SEGA has been doing a pretty good job with JRPG this gen. "As with SEGA's Valkyria Chronicles, moving and attacking share an action point gauge. A character's turn ends when either the action gauge depletes or they attack. In the game there are two types of damage that the player can inflict on opponents: direct damage and scratch damage." Any game using a combat similar to VC's is a potential winner in my books. Looking forward to it.
Sweet. I can't wait to read how other sites review this game. I've been really looking forward to this game for a while now and hopefully it will fill my jrpg void that ff13 didn't.
Great to hear Resonance of Fate is getting some positive reviews. Its only a shame that it is being released so close to FFXIII.
