PlayStation LifeStyle: Final Fantasy XIII Review

PSLS writes: "The latest chapter of Square Enix's legendary Final Fantasy series is finally here. Final Fantasy XIII was announced nearly 4 years ago at E3 2006. Initially intended to be a PlayStation 2 title, Final Fantasy XIII accumulated over 5 years of development time. During these 5 long years of waiting, Final Fantasy and RPG fans worldwide have heavily anticipated the title as its release date seemed to push further and further into the future. Was the long wait worth it?"

I'm hardly going to find time to play this game, with God of War III releasing so soon.

That's a solid score. I doubt this game is worst than Mystic Quest ha ha.

I can pretty much predict every score they are going to give before I even see it. They never stray far from the mainstream.

BTW, I'm not saying it's a bad thing. Those scores are common for a reason. I just find it slightly amusing. :)

Would you prefer if I gave misinformation and gave good games bad reviews? For the record, I was torn between giving FFXIII a 5/5 or a 4/5. What made me drop it to 4/5 is that I know some people won't be able to get over the 20 hour "hump", and the lack of variety definitely poses a problem, so it's hard for me to give a game like that the highest level of recommendation.

I would prefer if you used a 10 point scale and posted your PSN ID so we could all see that you actually played the game, what difficulty you played on (doesn't apply to FFXIII of course), and how much you actually accomplished in the game. I wish all reviewers would do this, though.

He doesn't need to post his PSN ID to prove he played the game. If you clicked the link you can clearly see his name on who wrote the review. What good will that do? 10 point scales are useless. In school you get 5 letter grades: A B C D F. Use that as your scale and figure it out.

butterfinger3135d ago

Are you serious, Kigmal? His name is on the review doesn't tell me anything about how long they played the game or what they actually accomplished in the game. In most schools (in the US anyway) they use a 10 point scale for grades, btw, so your letter grade idea is pointless to me (100=A+, 90=A, 80=B, 70=C, etc.). I guess it isn't OK for someone to disagree with the way PSLS does things around here, though. LMAO. Children, rush to your defenses! XD
