Playing videogames does not overtly affect Children's Activities

Shocking results of a survey published in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine show that kids who play games don't read as much. Boys gaming on a school night spent 30% less time reading, with girls spending 34% less time on their homework. This is already leading to some alarmist headlines.

So, do these results actually reflect negatively on time spent doing other activities?

Doesn't look like it. The research discovered that while gaming affected reading and homework time, it did not cut in on time spent with the family, socialising with friends, playing sports or getting exercise.
