GDC 2010: Akira Yamaoka Gets Heady About Audio Design, Then Jams

1UP: Some gamers may have lamented the recent news that Konami's Akira Yamaoka left the company (and with it, the Silent Hill franchise) to seek new opportunity. The good news is, Yamaoka's working hard at Grasshopper Manufacture, doing what he does best: Rethinking audio and music for games -- presumably horror titles. At GDC 2010, Yamaoka gave a talk called "As Long As the Audio is Fun, the Game Will Be Too," which focused on creating audio that controls the emotions of the player/listener during a game to heighten their overall experience.

The story is too old to be commented.
