Kotaku Preview: PlayStation Move's The Shoot Has A Major Twist

The Shoot is Sony's first light gun shooter for the newly named PlayStation Move controller, an arcade-style sci-fi shoot 'em up with a twist, in that you have to twist.

The Shoot, developed by Cohort Studios, takes advantage of the PlayStation Move controller in a few interesting ways. While the majority of the progressions is on rails, players can lean from side-to-side by shifting the Move left or right. That helps players avoid oncoming missiles and, sometimes, get a better angle on their shot, especially when robots pop up directly behind innocent humans.

Finally, players can slow down time by spinning in place. Yes, you'll need to do a full 360-degree-twist in front of the PlayStation Eye camera to execute the move. Oh, it's delightfully embarrassing to do in a public place.

The story is too old to be commented.

oh God, no rail shooters! please!

Sony Always Wins2811d ago

Well if it's not a rail shooter then we get the crap aiming like the Wii has on its FPS's

It actually looks like fun I saw some gameplay footage on Gametrailers and it looks ok. It's not the best Fps from the looks of it but it looks fun.

I love lightgun games. Nothing wrong about them, I have most the ones for the PS2. Just can't play them on a HDTV.

my friends and I used to spend entire days playing light gun games like Crypt Killer back in the PS1 days...this is really tempting me

This is what I was talking about on the other thread.

Why do lightgun game (without a gun, no less) have to be on rails. Walking and pointing should not be hard to do with a motion controller. Imagine a free roaming FPS like any other but with a light gun in you other hand. Its even a feature they could patch into current games.

I really dont see the hold up on this, or maybe thats just because I've been wanting it for years. Someone should have done it right by now. If Sony do, (KZ3 maybe) they could have a monster hit that changes the current direction of the average FPS.

I thought you guys thought moving around in front of your TV makes you look stupid?

hold no controller does.

Like driving a car without a steering wheel. Who ever thought of that, wants shooting.

LAGTAL concept is completely retarded
