GDC: White House announces game development challenge

First Lady Michell Obama's new Apps for Healthy Kids game challenge was unveiled at quite possibility the first Game Developers Conference attended by White House officials. Sadly, the First Lady herself wasn't present.

Kumar Garg, a policy analyst at the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy, detailed the First Lady's plan and the Obama administration's approach to video games as a whole.

The Apps for Healthy Kids challenge is part of the Let's Move! campaign aimed at addressing childhood obesity in the United Stats. The challenge invites software and game developers to make tools and games that encourage children to eat healthy and be active.
