Metroid Prime 3 Delayed for Nintendo Wii

Though this little tidbit was technically included in our last story, regarding The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass' release date, it was only a mere footnote, and certainly deserves an entry all its own. Tucked away within that press release, Nintendo of America sneakily revealed that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for the Nintendo Wii has been delayed.

Back in May, Nintendo sent out a schedule of their upcoming Nintendo Wii and DS release dates, and one of the big headlines of that story was Corruption being dated for August 20th, 2007. However, in its latest press release, the date has been pushed back to August 27th. It isn't a major delay, to be sure, but for those of you planning your entire summers around this first-party first-person shooter, it is certainly need-to-know information.

only by a week okay I can deal with that.

Ya a week's not too bad. To me, the fact that it's only a week indicates that the delay isn't being caused by the addition of some major gameplay features but perhaps some minor fine-tuning, bug fixing, or maybe Nintendo just needs more time to produce enough copies of the game to meet projected demand.

May screw up a few people with pre-orders but not shouldn't be to bad.

Quit messing with me Nintendo. Gimme game now!

Well, I guess a week is not too bad. Oh wait...school would have started and I wont be able to play as much.

Wait? You mean you value school over videogames? Keep it up. Good schooling increases the likelihood that you will get a job that not only is what you want to do, but also is well-paying. Well-paying enough to buy a lot of games down the road =)

lmao. I've never played Red Steel, but I definitely think that the RE4 Wii controls are good enough to warrant such a statement.

If it lives up to the hype, that is...

Yeah it'll be nice for a game to come out for the WII and not as a re-release. I'll be pretty disappointed if this game plays exactly like every other Metroid. I know that is setting the bar pretty high, but I think its about time they changed things up a TINY bit. More outdoor environments maybe?

You should already want a Wii. I've been saying this for the past two weeks: If you own a Wii and do not own Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, don't walk - RUN to the game store and buy it NOW! Forgive my enthusiasm, but this games controls make Red Steel look like Ashley Simpson.
