In that comparison Videogameszone checked the graphical differences between the demo and the final version of God of War 3.
The GOWIII demo was kind of a disappointment because of the poor frame rate. In those pictures, the color palette on the demo looks a little better (to me). However, it doesn't matter how the game looks in those pictures, it's how it runs. Most reviews haven't mentioned the frame rate. I loved that GOW 1 and 2 ran at 60fps. Sony mentioned that GOWIII would be between 30 and 60 fps. I personally hate fluctuating frame rates. I guess I'll just have to wait until it's out to find out.
Im not sure gow1 and 2 ran at 60fps, wasnt that one of the selling features of the GOW collection?
They (GOW 1&2) ran at 60 fps on the PS2. However, it slowed down here and there. I don't know if there was a selling point on PS3. They ran on PS3 at a consistent 60 fps at 720p.
Did the demo have the new QTE notifications appear on the edges of the screen on top of a white background, or was that just the full version? Like in image 6. Because I think these screens were mislabeled.
Wow nice eyes , yes indeed the demo had the circle button over the chimera's and centaur head , and the final build has them on the screen edges, they are inverted lol!
I thought Final would look much better than Demo, but from what I see there's not much difference. Demo has more contrast and some textures have more resolution (OMG, look at the harpy). I suppose they did it for FPS' sake. On the other hand, Final has better lighting and other assets have an extra layer of shaders, like the titans in the background. And I think they have added motion blur (Demo didn't have it), which consumes a lot of resources. Anyway, the best looking game on any console. G(o)d work, Sony Santa Monica. Really impressive.
maybe they switched the labels because the demo had alot more colour and blood while the final build looked bland so WTF
As I compare between the differences, you will notice the final version has a more realistic tone to it. Even in the trailers you can notice it. Somehow the addition of a better lighting technique, AA technique, plus motion blur creates that kind of tone. I like it because if gives it more of a CG/realism feel to it. The demo was great but the colors were to vibrant. Some may think that is good. But it takes away from the realism. Even when i watch TV, I tend to adjust the colors to get the picture a tone that looks close to real life. It's more easier to the eyes and it doesn't make the picture look fake. That's is not to say GOW3 will not have vibrant colors. It will but it will be because something is causing that specific bright flash of color. Just my opinion though.
Some of the images weren't captured well maybe because of the motion blur...
The pictures have been swapped for some images. I don't know why, but they have, just look at pic 9 and tell me why there would be less detail in the finished version when the demo is 1 year old. I don't know why they've swapped some images, but there's no doubt that they have. There's something severly wrong with these screenshots regardless. On the actual final version pics they've added their own blur filter in or something. If you want to see a good comparison shot collection (with NO BLUR), this link is miles better: http://www.thesixthaxis.com...
