Following on from Tuesday's article; The Great Xbox 360 Repair Debacle, I now have some updates to share with you all, including word from none other than Xbox Live's Director of Programming, Larry Hryb, a.k.a. Major Nelson.

Oh yeah, this is proof again that M$ never did reliable hardware! Their R&D are so lazy they probably built it as a toy! Seriously it is really a shame how M$ still continue to think people are just cows! Hey I am happy that Sony is doing great and has really True Quality control! Indeed they have experience with big electronic industry..M$ makes hardware as they build Windows, haha this fate of Windows systems defeated by reliable linux system ! haha so funny...sorry for gamers, M$ should at least apologies and recognize the issue officially, work on how to solve it and then recall old systems for replacement by a...PS3??!!!Pfff very BIG ISSUE for Bigosoft!!

I totaly agree bro. I also believe the cop-out excuse for slow returns of repairs is a shame. I believe the reason for slow returns is because dead 360's are pilling up quicker than a nasty dump...haha

Even if on the off chance that the much desired by Sony fans lawsuit takes place, it won't change the marketshare of the PS3. And whats the matter with comparing the customer service of M$ to the customer service of Sony? Doesn't everyone remember how Sony raped people over defective Ps2's? How is this not a legitimate arguement? I mean if your going to b1tch about M$'s hardware, at least acknowledge that they are treating their customers many times better than Sony did last gen.
How is getting charged $140 good? Come on man, stop making excuses. Just cuz Sony had problems in the past doesnt mean that its alright for us to be going through this now. posted on this website every day. How is this considered news. I am well aware that Microsoft has hardware issues. If these issues were as bad as fanboys acted like they were Microsoft would have had a class action lawsuit on their hands well over a year ago. I think that this failure rate issues is nothing but a desperate attempt for Sony fanboys to have something negative to harp on the 360. It isn't going to hinder 360 sales and I'm sure Microsoft is addressing the issues. It really is grasping at straws at this point and has become quite pathetic.
If it wasn't for the hardware issue the sony fanboys would have nothing to talk about, its all they got.
Sony fans are ridiculous with there everyday attacks towards 360 the closer that E3 arrives! My 360 is working fine and even if it messed up I would still buy another one before even considering a PS3!
thats what i did, except my launch day 360 i camped out for didn't die because of MS, my inlaws pumped it full of windex trying to clean it then nicely dropped it on the floor, and then put everything back like i couldn't tell. So i used it as an excuse to get an elite,,, it arrives this afternoon!

Seems like Sony fanboys want a 360 pretty bad going after MS ever chance they get. There is more Sony fanboys intrested in this issue than 360 fans even more so than the million that do not have problems with their 360s. Is this a sign of Sony fanboys wanting a 360 but just not at this moment waiting for reports to vanish before buying a 360 not that these reports will ever go away because haters will continue to dig up dirt even if its the most common problem from forums as the haters use this as a tool. It will never be solved even if the defect rate is below %5 due to people trying to keep this alive to bash what they do not like in the first place.

Hi all, I wrote the article in question and have just updated it after being called by a Microsoft rep. Please refresh the article to see the update. After reading the comments, I should also point out that this isn't about Sony vs Microsoft. This is about Microsoft customers being treated right. I write for a website called 'weplayxbox' and the Xbox 360 is indeed my console of choice right now. I just sympathise with all those who've sent their 360s away recently and are waiting so long to get one back. Hopefully shedding a little light on the situation will stir Microsoft into doing their best to rectify the problem.
Don't mind the comments. you will get fanboys on both sides that will interpret this article how they want (proganda supporting/demeaning their console of choice), and miss the true purpose of it. I, personally, welcome reports like this. I've seen WAY too many reports on this issue that end up putting a fanboy spin on it. This was one of the exceptions. Thank you.

Why do you keep trying when no one cares or even believes the overly hyped (by Droids) failure rate numbers? Are there failures? yeah, is it as bad as Droids say it is? hell no because it's "Droids" saying it.
Let me get this straight. Everytime there's an article about faulty Xboxes, its the PS3 fanboys fault for posting the news am I right? In accordance to that argument, I guess JamieSI, an administrator and site manager of N4G, is indeed a sony fanboy am I correct? C'mon guys, one of a contributor's job here is to "contribute" news. You Xbox fans are contributors too right? So why don't you guys dig the web for some negative news for the PS3 for retaliation. No one is preventing you guys to look for news to help your Xbox camp. Pointing fingers is really not going to help. I find some negative news for Xbox but I don't like posting it because I know its gonna create a flame war. You know there is a contest going on and its a lot of money so anybody who wants to win will just dig up anything as long as its news worthy. In conclusion, its not always PS3 fans trying to upset Xbox owners. Its just that news are news and if you want to win the "hottest news of the month", you would try to post flamebait articles.

I agree dude and to be honest, it's really pathetic for both camps on downplaying rival consoles. It's all about choices and we should learn to respect other peoples choices and also learn to mind our own business sometimes. You follow the games that you like for whatever console it comes out to. I chose PS3 and you chose Xbox360; I like FF and you like Halo, end of story. Its a really easy concept but somehow some people don't get it.
Ok let me understand this, they are telling us that the slow repair is due to an avalanche of 360's bricked by owners on purpose because they where banned from XBOX LIVE, Do microsoft accept or receive an xbox without the GUARANTY SEAL??????

I'm sick and very tired of hearing this "news". I have 72 friends on my Xbox Live account and out of those 72 I had 5 who had their 360s break on them. And the time that their 360s broke on them was right after the 360's release. I deny any news from this site about 360s breaking because that's the only thing that stupid (Bill Gates and 1 bubble bastard as examples) PS3 fanbois (And I have high respect for the PS3 owners that don't flame 360 articles like retards) have for a foot hold against 360 owners.
I had to take my xbox 360 back TWICE before i finally got one that worked properly. Can't believe they are stopping repairs though...
