But yes, it's true, Blu-Ray is da bomb.

If you goto the homepage for the company you'll see that blu-ray one 6 awards

where as HD-dvd won 10 awards.

so ya. We (the hd-dvd community) got 4 more then you
but nice job for blu-ray

to those that disagree. How? How can you possibly disagree. Goto the website and count for yourself.

"DVD accoiation reconises execlllence in HD-DVD"
i think NOT!

HD-dvd got some lousy awards. Bluray got 6 awards!!

blu ray is awesome! i would buy 300 but i have a japanese ps3. lol. rainbow six rocks!

Blu-ray Movies are region frendly, in other words you can play US blu-ray Movies on your Japanese PS3

Snake_Doctor4103d ago

I think that is only true for games and some movies.

I like Blue Ray and HD DVD but I don't buy all the movies for em. I still buy more DVD's then anything. The high def dvd's really only shine (in my opinion) for the action heavy movies and ones that would use a lot of cgi and stuff. Would you want to buy Click on Blue Ray? I hope you didn't. Blazing Saddles on HD DVD probably not cuz the DVD is under 10 bucks and has all the extras the HD version has.
So they have their place but it's not for every movie.

I totally agree with you. Some movies are just not worth the money to get it in High Definition.

I would like if they start putting television series's on 1 or 2 disks instead of 10 :)

Japanese and North American Blu-Ray movies are in the same region. Region 1. So you should be fine playing movies from or in either the US or Japan.
