awesome

even though the game was pretty much a movie with QTE

this is good news for us ps3 owners who enjoyed the game

smittyjerkins5170d ago (Edited 5170d ago )

WHO ARE YOU AND WHO DO YOU WORK FOR!?

WHHHOOOOOOOOOO????!!!?!?!?!

Seriously, you end up being either first, second or third in almost every PS3 article that gets to first page. I don't think that is mere coincidence.

N4G! I'M ON TO YOU!

LtSkittles5170d ago

@Matt he is Bungie, MGR, etc, he is a troll. He is lonely, and all he does is troll, he never plays any games.

Tony P5170d ago

OH COME ON.

The WHOLE POINT of the game is to present a pure blend of cinema and gaming that specifically *cannot* be replicated in theatres. Making it into straight linear film pretty much robs it of all its innovations. It ain't the same thing.

How would you like to read the Matrix books: "Neo ducks real fast as bullets whiz by". Completely bypassing the pioneering cinematic techniques used to create bullet time. So crappy.

I am overreacting, yes. I'm sure it will make a fine film. Just not anywhere near as good a film as it was a game.

OtherWhiteMeat5170d ago

Greenringoflife doesn't work for anybody. He hangs around the 'tips pending' section and trolls PS3 articles and then approves them. With his multiple accounts.

zeeshan5170d ago

Adding morons to ignore list works like a charm. Ever since I ignored BUNGIE, comments section looks "clean" and Greenringof whatever is next in line. You guys should try it. N4G looks civilized sans comments from retards and trolls.

Obama5170d ago

Go easy on him guys. I don't think he has any friends in real life.

FACTUAL evidence5170d ago

lol, wow...what a slick troll.....I bet you don't even own a ps3, with heavy rain, nor have any friends with a ps3...Anyways, this is a big coincidence since i was thinking how awesome heavy rain would be as a movie....wth lmao..if this becomes a movie it would be one of the best of it's kind.

ThanatosDMC5170d ago

Why make it into a movie when the game/movie is all ready on the PS3???

Consoldtobots5170d ago

obviously they would aim for a high order mystery suspense thriller ala Silence of the Lambs. If done right it could become an instant classic.
The "Origami Killer" is a very ominous name and would catch on.

'awesome

Yeah it's pretty much a movie with QTE's EXCEPT THE BITS WHERE you control your character in a 3D enviroment. Also based on what you just said Halo 3 was a movie(with a god awful story)

In heavy rain you control your character with the left analogue stick, you may be asked to interact with an item by pressing a button
In Halo 3 you control your character with a left analogue stick, you may be asked to interact with an item by pressing a button

See I summerized both games(and they are BOTH games) and I discovered Halo 3=Movie with QTE's. Fight night Roung 4 is also similar to Heavy Rain as is Skate 2... so are they movies?

Hey add me on PSN. Since you have a PS3 I think it'd be good to play against you.

Also this guy is allowed in gamer zone and I'm not. Is that just?

LtSkittles5170d ago (Edited 5170d ago )

MRV he doesn't own a PS3, therefore it would be immpossible for him to add you.

Also, him and Bungie are allowed in the gamer zone, but I d.k why

mrv3215170d ago

That's why I want him to add me. They can add me on 360 and on Steam if they want... (I'm not a PC gamer but I do have steam, and I play LoL) I enjoy games, I hate fanboys.... and I am getting to like open zone.

Sevir045170d ago

Man i love it when something like this happens. Gonna go pic up my copy first thing in the mourning.

Blaze9295170d ago

no thanks. Hollywood always wants to make movies out of stuff man. Leave this game as it is. It's a movie in itself anyway so no need for it to be butchered on the big screen.

Saaking5170d ago

Nice stealth troll there, but it's a bit obvious.

Heavy Rain is a movie? Well, tell me something Blaze. What do you do in a video game? You move around, press buttons to do actions, and you play through the story. Right? That is what video games consist off.

In HR, you move around, Press buttons to do actions, and play through the story. It's just a different type of gameplay.

So tell me. How this is this not a game and just "a movie?"

Blaze9295170d ago

I don't know, ask David Cage:

So wanna argue with the creator? I thought so

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

BLAKHOODe1256d ago

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

sourOG1256d ago

No. Some games are like movies.

medman1255d ago (Edited 1255d ago )

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.

Have you played Detroit? While it’s my personal favorite, I fully understand many preferring Heavy Rain more. I’m glad you enjoyed Heavy Rain too.

bouzebbal1413d ago

def. one of my top 3 best experiences on PS3

ClayRules20121413d ago

bouzebbal

That’s awesome to hear! What’re the other 2 best experiences?

akaFullMetal1413d ago

Great game, need to get started on Detroit soon.

ClayRules20121413d ago

Glad you enjoyed the game! Yes, Detroit is a masterpiece of a game, and their best work to date “in my opinion”

ClayRules20121413d ago

Wow, 10 years...and yet, still one of the best/most emotional/thrilling gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

So grateful to Sony for believing in Quantic Dream’s vision for this game, and giving them a chance. I’ll never forget David Cage saying “We want to challenge the player, but not with the controller, but mentally, with their decisions of “How far would you go to save someone you love” Well, they broke my emotional gamer heart lol.

My teenage son refuses to play this game, because I’ve told him in little detail the emotional impact it had on me all those years ago. Maybe one day he will.

Z5011413d ago

Still have my origami crane they teach you how to make when you're installing for the first time.

C-H-E-F1413d ago

it's been 10 years? wow, that was so fast, I feel like this console gen went fast as well although it hasn't. I really look forward to the PS5 this holiday season though.
