Game: Heavy Rain Review

It has been a long four years since Quantic Dream debuted The Casting at E3 2006 but Heavy Rain has finally arrived. It features four playable characters who are drawn together by the investigations into The Origami Killer, a serial murderer who has been targeting local children for the last two years. One man, Ethan Mars, is recovering from a tragic loss when his son Shaun becomes the latest to be taken. He knows he only has a matter of days before his son is lost forever and starts a desperate struggle for redemption which will see him answer the ultimate question: 'How far are you willing to go to save someone you love?' These pre-rendered games are more suited for tech like Natal, in this day and age.


Nope I mean Motion will be perfect for static types of games with limited pre-rendered freedom. And since Natal has the most potential I mentioned Natal. Dry your fanboy eyes.

Fullbody motion is more advanced than wands, so in a sense what you said jokingly is true(despite what you said having nothing to do with what I said). Imagine walking around in a HR-like game with Natal and grabbing things with Natal vs pointing and clicking with the wand. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Just in case even more PS3 fanboys try to use the lie excuse that pre-rended means CGI and can never mean ingame. HR is static with pre-rendered environments the term is not exclusive ti CGI it only mean not rendered/processed in real time. The game is a interactive cutscene. Pre-rendered can be CGI and ingame.

But how would Heavy Rain work with Natal with QTEs? Sometimes you just need a controller to do things, and the lack of it wont allow for certain types of games. The motion controllers are totally different and will attract different audiences and games

I know it's hard to believe it's all real-time it just looks so damn good!! I just started playing this game and it's great. @ we won heavy rain is not pre-rendered it's real-time. you can change the camera position and the environment has a influence on the game character. Show me a link in pm because you have no bubbles left to prove that HR is not real-time.

Heavy Rain is rendered "on the fly"...in environments you "interact" with. What a silly boy you are, Don`t talk about technical wordings and terminology as you CLEARLY have no understanding. The funny this is, the Wiki link IS a correct definition.........sadly it doesn't apply to HR. Epic EPIC fail! Take your FUD elsewhere.

Heavy rain is a great game, a 9/10 but my only gripe is the occasional freezing one experiences from time to time as it is frustrating when your engrossed in the story and you have to reset to continue playing!:(

This site is all over the place with it's scores. They score games like Ninja Blade a 9.0 but give games like HR and MAG a 6.8. I guess they just have different tastes in games than most people...
