IBM unveils BlueGene/P supercomputer to break Petaflop barrier

IBM today announced the second generation of its BlueGene supercomputer technology. The system will scale to a performance of 3 PFlops, which is more than 10 times the performance of today's fastest supercomputers in operation.

The story is too old to be commented.

users this and that would be much helpfull

That cpu for it and its going to be more than 3 petaflops its going to be 100,000 petaflops.

and it's gonna cost $30,000 each

Sony did say it would make the ps3 last 10 years so in ten years when the ps4 comes out hey its possible.Thats if there is a ps4

PS3 being supported for 10-years, like the first PS and the PS2 will be, does not mean they'll wait 10-years until next iteration.

more like $300,000.
damn i havnt even heard of peta flops, i just thought giga flops were into a few hundreds!!
wow can you imagine the kind of computing this beast can do?

It can simulate turds floating in water very well.

But it still doesn't compare to the 4D in the cell. The cell totally sh1ts on this IBM peice. Pfft, 3 Petaflops. That's for pussies.

Hook two PS3 cell's together and it's processing power exponentially increases to roughly 256 Pflops! Allowing you to do such things as creating a time machine/fountain of youth/gold maker/death ray/dildo.

With the new sodomy attachment for the PS3 droids can literally get f**ked while they're watching Blu Ray movies!

Don't get your panties in a ruffle, I'm joking.

the cell does 1.8 teraflops, pretty far of you would need about a lot more then two
