Expectations for the PlayStation 3 premier shooter are high, and Sony aims to release Killzone 2 during September. In an upcoming GamePro issue, sources close to Sony claim that development on Killzone 2 is going extremely well and the game should hit stores in September right before the holiday season. One GamePro editor wrote, that in comparison with Halo 3 and other shooters on both the 360 and PS3, Killzone 2 will blow away any console shooter to date. We will be curious to see how this develops - stay tuned.

golden eye made a better fps transition on the consoles, cuz that was one of the first! and while this may not count Socom is way better then halo in multi player, the only reason it didnt take off is cuz the network for ps2 sucked.
if it was coming in september they would have had an official release date by now.

realese it after or before halo 3 because they would sell so much more if they did, halo 3 is without a dought going to put out a huge marketing campain, when halo 2 came out it was even on the six o clock news.
If it plays like complete crap, as in Killzone 1, then this is a no-go for me.
I hope they using the PS3 to their advantage, I can't wait to find out if they have.
It would be nice to see them release this game next to halo 3. I mean it stands a chance. Just about 4 million PS3 sold, a little bit over 4 million preorders for Halo 3 alone. Killzone could do some decent numbers if every PS3 owner out here buys a copy.
Halo is not the big system seller like Gear of War was. Most of the Halo fans already own a 360.
the bulk of the people I know are waiting for either a price drop or halo 3 to buy a 360.
I am not going to believe anyone from gamepro or any sony reps, they're bias, gamepro i like when they talk up the ps3 but guy haven't even seen halo3 single player yet and he's mouthing like he's seen more than the beta, I am not going to compare halo3 beta to killzone you're just dumb if you do that......When I get killzone I will judge it for myself, becuase the first one sucked big time...... and gamepro and sony bigged that one up to
i was so excited for the first one cuz they were calling it the halo killer and such, and all my friends had an xbox and were gettin halo 2 and all i had was a ps2 but the then the game turned out to be very average
They only planning to go MP beta this year.
So unless there will be some MP beta in august, it`s no way they are going to release game by september.
But, it`s very possible of starting Killzone 2 MP beta this september. =))

Yeah, your totally right. September my @ss... I'm all for the game and stuff but that is being a little too optimistic... i say march 08 at earliest. I would be super surprised if it hits shelves in september (if it does it would make a nice b-day present for me on the 1st of october, lol) I expect beta to start around then. The only way they can release it by then is to have a very fast public beta or they are having a closed private one or something

Not Sony. You can google it. In fact, Sony is not even in the top 5 in Japan. The largest 5 game developers in Japan are (in descending order): Nintendo, Sega, Namco Bandai, Konami, and Square Enix -- that's counting all the studios in their holdings. Sony is not one of the "Big 5".
Sony is the 2nd biggest game developher company in the world behind EA.
say this game looks so great when no one has seen it. This is all crap. I have not seen one screenshot or trailer of what this game actually looks like.
It's all just hype and it is pretty pathetic. Crysis is the best looking FPS I have ever seen. I have to highly doubt that the PS3 will surpass a $5000 dollar gaming PC in the graphics department.

i get a feeling like its another sony hype game. I know sony didn't say it but sometimes you might feel they had something to do with it. I think it will look great maybe better then halo3 maybe no. I don't know and you don't either they haven't shown much of H3 single player and they said it looks alot better. I do not believe its going to look like the CGI trailer. But it might look really good i mean for all the money Sony has dumped into it i would hope so.
KZ2 will look better than halo3, i will bet anyone on that. Now whether it plays as good is a different story. For that we will have to wait for E3

But i also keep my judgements down until i see H3 singleplayer game play i don't know they said it is going to look way batter then MP and if we say Beta MP which looked ok not great but not horrible i think bungie might pull through but i also agree KZ2 might be a awesome looking game but from what i played of the first one they got to pull through on those game play features... thats all.
Halo however has always had it's multiplayer looking exactly like it's single player, which is why I'm surprised they're saying the single player will look better. Perhaps they're just referring to the "atmoshperic" effects, but we'll have to wait and see. One things for sure: the beta looked nothing like the announcement trailer. Regardless, the game looks good ENOUGH and it's still my most anticipated game for the year.

From everything I've seen so far, I would say BIOSHOCK, not Halo 3 or Killzone 2, will be the best next-gen FPS.
So there is no need for me to worry which is better. Both will probable end up being amazing.
already looks amazing. As for Halo 3 I'm sure the single player will look fine. They took a giant beating over the beta and I'm sure Papa Bill has been cracking the whip at his poor slaves at Bungie to get it to look better.
I can't wait to see Killzone2, I like the art style seems different from other shooters. I never played Killzone1 but alot of my friends do like it and were impress with the story. I think now that sony took over and is providing support it should turn out to be an awsome game. One think is for sure Sony does have what it take to make a game and noone can argue with that.
it will push more devs to try and out do guerilla and sony.
so far call of duty,haze and crysis are the front runners for pushing the envelope.

Een game waar velen hoge verwachtingen van hebben is Killzone 2 voor de Playstation 3. Het is al een flinke tijd stil geweest omtrent deze titel, maar wellicht ligt de game al in september in de winkels.
Het Amerikaanse magazine GamePro weet namelijk te melden dat de ontwikkeling van de game al verder gevorderd is dan we denken. Halo3 SP will probably look more polish than the beta, don't being expecting Halo3 to break any graphical acheivements. Xbots will now say that it's all about the gameplay and I will say how come we can't have both like gears of war.
Halo 3 will actually look like the realtime announcement trailer shown at last years E3 press confrence.

Obviously it wont be able to match the CGI trailer, I stated that in my original post. Remember Motorstorm was the same way, it didnt match the original trailer shown but it was close and the game ended up looking beautiful. But really, I dont care if the game doesn't floor anyone. Halo for me has always been the sweet sweet sweet feeling of rolling up behind someone and gun butting them for a kill or seeing them run by and sniping them for an instant kill. If KZ2 looks better and even plays better, more power to Sony. All the more reason for me to buy a ps3. Im going to be part of the neutral group and buy both Halo and Killzone and enjoy what both games and systems have to offer.
