Wii Opera Web Browser No Longer Free After June 30

The Internet Channel for Nintendo Wii, powered by Opera, is currently available for free via the Internet Channel within the Wii Shop Channel menu. After this week though, this unique Web experience will require 500 Wii points to download. The free grace period ends July 1, 2007. Users who download before this period retain the application at no cost for the life of the system...

The story is too old to be commented.

If that's the case then everyone should download it right now. Even if you don't use it much, free is free.

Is that is right, then everyone get downloading now before it's too late!

Better and safer than firefox in my opinion.

Opera sucks, most smaller websites don't optimize javascript for opera, and it renders many websites wrong, and safer than Firefox? in your opinion?

VVVVVVVVVVVVV
the problem is there are many "sloppy coders" out there, many sites I visit don't render properly that is why I stick to firefox. I don't know about security, but I guess it's understandable because ad-aware, hackers would target the most used browser. I don't worry about security since I run Ubuntu anyway...

Opera is my browser of choice. I am a Web designer specializing in accessibility and search engine optimization issues. I use Opera as my default browser for code validation and CSS debugging.

RE: warfed. Coders who write sloppy, invalid code blame Opera rather than their poor coding skills for their sites that don't render as they intended. Opera render sites according to W3C HTML specifications.

Opera is the most secure browser as well. http://www.opera.com/suppor...

I test sites using all the popular browsers, and others known to only a few. It is Opera's high level of security and its functionality such as Opera Notes and an integrated e-mail client and many other highly useful features tha makes Opera invaluable to me.

Opera was the first browser to use tabs and mouse gestures. It has a built in ZOOM & SCALE feature that is great for those who need their browser displays a little larger. Opera zooms to 1000% and scales down to 20%. It's a great feature.

Opera for PC Windows, as well as other OSs and hardware is FREE. Check it out: http://www.opera.com/downlo...

Wow Im scared Im thinking will Sony do that to PS3 owners ????? Xbox snitch ! nintendo snitch ! Sony not snitch but expecting to be a snitch

kewlkat0073591d ago

sheeshe, now nintendo the lone online stragler is now charging for the browser. Hey I did use it I think it is nifty, but it is not something I would pay for, I mean I'm on the internet right now. Plus there is no keyboard, so I could care-less about console internet browsing. The experience is just not the same. Before you know it everything will be merged with your TV, as far as your tv and network goes.

i think it would be more logical that Opera is asking money for it, And networking on your tv and such? already happening with media pc's/media boxes.
