Koku Gamer - Bioshock 2 Review

Koku Gamer writes: "The original Bioshock was one of the best games of the last decade. Sure, it looked fantastic and had gameplay that was as well executed as it was unique, but it was the immersive setting and exceptional story that made the game not only stand out from the crowd, but a truly memorable title. So naturally, any developer who was tasked to work on the inevitable sequel and be forced to live up to such a high standard was walking into hell. That is to say, it's no easy task to develop a sequel that lives up to the quality of the original game, let alone one that is so successful and highly acclaimed. But alas, we now have Bioshock 2, a highly ambitious title trying to live up to a highly unobtainable standard. So does Bioshock 2 succeed? Let's find out." (BioShock 2, PC, Xbox 360) 8.5/10

In my opinion the problem with returning to a unique world like Rapture is it loses the unique feel, and atmosphere it originally had. Its a problem sequels face all the time, its hard to top originality, especially when it did it as well as Bioshock 1 did.

Wont stop me picking up this game though!!

Yea, I'm only a quarter way through the game, but am enjoying a lot.

I finished Bioshock 2 last week.

I had fun with it, but I felt that the two endings I got were very, very weak.

I love bioshock
and Im probably half way through BS2 and I love it too even if I was a little skeptical.

Its really just more bioshock with different guns and a few changes, and thats all I could really ask for. It seems more challenging this time as the crossbow in bs1 seemed overpowered and made killing big daddies easy.

Maybe its just because I started my first game of BS2 on HARD with Auto-aim and VITA chambers turned off.

Getting a big sister to fight with a big daddy is awesome!!!

Seems like a fair review to me.

I like it as much as the first, sure it's not the same epic feeling you got from the first but that's because the original aspect of it is gone. Since it's a sequel.

I loved the first one, and will definitely play this one. Bioshock is my top 4 games of this gen, so I cant wait to check it out.

I agree, you already have seen alot of rapture so its not as intresting to see it this time
but BS1 is a amazing game and this is just more BIOSHOCK so Im loving it.

I made it as hard a possible for my first playthrough so im having a great time trying to survive. There are so many ways to approach every situation untill the big sister comes for you and you are just fighting for your life.

I think this game is much better on the PS3. Also the multiplayer was not a needed thing in Bioshock 2.

Not for me.
