Pads & Panels: Madworld Official Soundtrack Review

Madworld is all about combat – furious and incredibly gory. The kills come fast and with creative violence, all to the bumping beats of hip-hop, with the lyrical stylings of indie artists like OX, Doujah Raze, Sick-YG and Bandy Leggz. The 20-track official soundtrack collects the performances of these artists, as well as Optimus and S.O.U.L. It is pulse-pounding indie hip-hop designed to get people in the mood for action, and it gets the job done. The hip-hop may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's better than a lot of stuff eating up the mainstream charts. It's more of a hip-hop compilation than traditional soundtrack, but it worked for Madworld, and fans who enjoyed it as a backdrop for the game will find more mileage out of its CD release.
