Remedy Entertainment has often said that Alan Wake was inspired by books, films, and television shows. What are the chances of the game in turn becoming, say, a movie?
Im sure youll c Alan Wake 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc aswel as movies, films, toys, board games or pretty much anythin u can add the name Alan Wake to Its MS, youll b sleepin/eatin and drinkin Alan Wake b-4 u know it

C) You shine your flashlight on the flying toaster and watch as the toaster enters slow motion mode while you aim your gun and shoot at it. Hahahahahaaaaa!!! Un frikkin believable how delusional them bots are. Alan wake is a SHIAT game, xbot. "but, but, alan wake looks really really goooooddd". Lmao STOP FKING LYING and wake up from Lalaland. Udidntlistenpunk, you are clearly a special needs case, and I will be putting you forward towards the my local social worker. Fear not my friend of the tiny intellect people, you will be helped.
do these game companies think I want to see a freaking film of their game. Use the assets and energy in another game.
there's nothing wrong them wanting their Videogames to be bigger than just a game. There's Games based on movies and comic books. It should only be right to have the opposite aswell.
I don't mind the idea of a game becoming a movie. I just mind the fact that they never turn out well. Can't blame a developer for wanting to capitalize on a hit, though. If it gives them the sort of money necessary to make more games, then why not?
movies based on games should stop.
Totally agree. Why is the "big leap" always to a sh*tty movie? Make some good sequels if it's that big. Don't drag it down with an inevitably horrible film.
As a customer and fan, I would prefer a comic book series before a movie, but if I had money and investments in it then all things possible would be considered.
Release the game first and then we'll talk. It has been stated so many times that Alan Wake was/is inspired by Lost, Twin Peaks, various Stephen King books. It all depends on how much liberty Remedy takes with "inspired by". If Remedy does things in their own unique way and despite taking bits and pieces from here and there end up with something fresh and original, maybe. But if the plot ends up being a rehash of something people have already seen or read, stick to making games and give the players a proper sequel. Plus, 99% of all films based on movies have been complete and utter crap up until this point.
Nothing wrong with games trying to be like a movie experience.
A game movie? I think that's an excellent idea! =D /sarcasm.
Heavy Rain and its getting awesome reviews!
That's an interactive video game. Not really a movie. Noob. -_-
PC/Laser Disc/PC FX-Engine had many games of that sort...just better graphics today.
Always a good sign for a franchise.
Thats fine and all, but games that turned into movies end up sucking usually. I would want them to focus their resources on Alan Wake 2 or whatever after Alan Wake ships, not a movie that will likely suck.
I HATE HEARIN ABOUT DIS GAME IT WAS IN DEVELOPMENT FROM BEFORE THE 360 WAS OUT JUS F**KIN RELEASE DIS ALREADY AND PEOPLE CRY WHEN GT5 GET DELAY AND PUSH BACK WHY DNT I HEAR CRIES FOR THIS MABE CUZ IT SH*T I F**KIN HATE MICROSOFT N TO BE REAL KINDA HATE STUPID ASS AMERICANS THINK DEY RUN EVERYTING AND THINK THEY INVENTED EVERYTING AND PREFECTED IT WHEN JAPANESE AND CHINESE KIK DERE AS* IN ERYTING AND NEVA BRAG
This is what happens when you own a ps3 for too long, you slowly lose your mind. I fear for your sanity brother, my heart goes out to your family. God speed your recovery. With an Xbox 360.
Trying to copy heavy rain huh....WAKE UP alan.
Both games have people in them. I'm pretty sure that's where the similarities end.
I want the game regardless lol.
Lost: Via Domus did the whole episodic, tv series type storytelling with each chapter being an episode. It didn't work out every well. I am curious to see how Alan Wake goes about doing this but am a little hesitant.
Games to film I am all for depending how close they keep the story as is without any twists or some stupid idea and what studio does the movie. Disney doing Prince of Persia will be ruined but Alan Wake as a movie tv show I don't think so they tried Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew as a tv show and that did not last long. And some games do not deserve a movie such as Super Mario, Final Fantasy
Looking forward to Alan Wake. Honestly though, it'd be cool for once if the movie developers were like, "Hey, I hope this could become a game someday." Not as a movie-tie in, no. But a game inspired by the movie with a full development cycle like most other AAA companies do (read 2-3 years. Video games should not be treated like a lesser form. Especially since they are taking up a large market share of the Entertainment industry.
I for one, think Uwe Boll should be the director.
lol seems like bots dont mind abt the 5years of development on this one...but anyway this one looks very good! finally bots will have a true exclusive that is actually a good game
