After five years of development, Alan Wake is nearly complete. Today Microsoft announced the game's exact release dates for North America and Europe.
Yeah I'm sure that'll stick.
There is a release date. Geesh, I was starting to think this game would end up retiring as a geriatric concept in the retirement home of games that never were.
Five years of development wow. Hope this game is good. I'm down with any type of horror game.
Nah, I think this date will stand. The game looks pretty much complete. I like that they didn't give it a holiday release. New IP's just don't do too hot when they're competing against Call of Duty and all those other sequels.
And yet the best games of this generation imo are new IPs: Mass Effect, U2, GeOW, LBP, Bioshock, Demons Souls, Dead Space, ... RE5, GTA4, SCIV , Tekken, ... were a huge disappointment to me.
Hmmm I dunno if it's smart to have a collectors edition on a game no one knows they're gonna like. If I bought a collectors edition of a new game and ended up not liking the game, I'd be kind of pissed I have all this extra crap for nothing plus I paid more. Oh well I'm sure dumb people who buy into the hype will waste their money on it.
MSFT must have some killer apps for the second half of the year with so many games coming in the first few months of this year. E3 is going to be off the hook. These games plus Natal will make it challenging for MSFT, when it comes to keeping up with 360 supply demands at retail at the end of this year.
Still a ways away but I can wait a few more months.
Alan Wake, Halo Reach, Splinter Cell, Mass Effect 2>>>>Bioshock, Mass Effect, Halo 3 etc...
Alan Waits finally gets a release date. lol
Yes Alan Wait finally got a release date but what about GT wait 5 lol I remember when PD said they can release the game any time they want and it got delay aahahhahahah.
Now, this is a story all about how Alan wake got flopped-turned upside down And I'd like to take a minute Just sit right there I'll tell you how I became a game tester for this flop right here In Remedy America played and made In the gaming lounge was where I spent most of my days Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool And all killing zombies in sandbox styled school When a couple of devs Who were up to no good Startin making trouble in my c++ compiler I got in one little fight and my agency got scared And said 'You're movin' with your corps and crew to Fin-Land' I begged and pleaded with them day after day But they packed my PS3 and send me on my way They gave me a reimbursement and then they gave me my ticket. I put my iPad on and said, 'I might as well kick it'. First line of code... yo this is bad Drinking Bawls Guarana out of a champagne glass. Is this what the people of Fin-Land Living like? Hmmmmm this might be alright. But wait I hear there're prissy, xbox fanboys and all that Is this the type of place that they should send this cool ps3 preferred cat? I don't think so I'll see when I get there I hope they're prepared for the Max Payne of Fin-Land Well, the plane landed and when I came out There was a dude who looked like Aaron Greenberg standing there with my name out I ain't trying to get fired yet I just got here I sprang with the quickness like lightning, disappeared faster than Microsoft's NPD I whistled for a cab and when it came near The license plate said Xbox and it had Banjo Kazooie in the mirror If anything I can say that this cab was RARE But I thought 'Nah forget it' - 'Yo homes to Espoo' I pulled up to the suite about 7 or 8 And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes flop ya later' I looked at my desk I was finally there To beta test Alan Wake, I could tell this was gonna be the king of despair
t for teen? i'm concerned a bit about that.
technically you're not killing from what's been shown. Just dissolving evil spirits away with light.
It's because it's not a gory game. The enemies are these spirits you kill with light. I think Arkham Asylum showed you can have a pretty dark game with a Teen rating, though.
no pointless shower scene to raise the age restriction
Yeah man, what the heck was up with Heavy Rain and all the senseless nudity? Talk about a fanboy trap. What's worse is that David Cage went on running his mouth about all how the objectivism was justified and "necessary" for the story. That's BS. He should have just come out and said... "I like the boobies...and the young boy gamers, they like the boobies, too."
You can have scary/horror and not be gratuitous about it.. But yeah, an adult oriented action thriller game rated Teen does make me wonder.. This game will fail so hard if it doesn't end up being scary.
I'm still hoping they will announce a PC version for this...although I heard they gimped some of the gameplay....
finally. i was disappointed with the trailer hopefully it's a decent game. i will try to play on my 360 again for this.
Checking this game out for sure! glad it's nearly done, very unlikely it will get delayed now.
alan finally waking up bots...
it will look like crap...no pc version?? I wonder how many 360's this game will brick. It could've been a beautiful game...now...I'm not so sure...
Nice. Although, I'm pretty sure this can't be counted as a 'spring' release anymore. There's definitely been a stealth estimated released date delay here.
